Football as a content machine: 18 Champions League games was fun but overstuffed | Max Rushden

I think the Champions League has always been about the drama & excitement of the big matches, not just about playing every other day 🤯🏆. Can't we just enjoy a game without feeling like we're stuck in some kind of football marathon? 🚫 I mean, don't get me wrong, more games = more action, but does that really make for better viewing? 👀

I'm kinda split on this new format 🤔. On one hand, I love the energy and excitement of having more games in a shorter span – it's like a rollercoaster ride of emotions 😱! It's not often you see so many great matches crammed into one evening... but at the same time, I can totally relate to those fans who feel overwhelmed by all the action 🤯. I mean, I love watching my favorite team play just as much as the next guy, but sometimes it feels like they're playing a million times in a row ⚽️.

And yeah, safety first! All these extra games do seem to take a toll on players and coaches... not what you want when you're already fighting for victory 🏆. Still, I think it's worth exploring how this format can work without sacrificing the essence of the game 🤔. Maybe there's a way to find that sweet spot between action-packed excitement and some good old-fashioned footballing drama 😊
