Football transfer rumours: Real Madrid leading race to sign Adam Wharton?

Liverpool's Adam Wharton is piquantly on everyone's radar as Real Madrid makes a serious push to sign the English midfielder. With several suitors already circling, it appears that Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United are also vying for his signature. Crystal Palace have reportedly put their player up for sale at the end of the season with an eye-watering price tag of £65m.

However, Wharton's present situation with Liverpool is somewhat precarious. He has seen a decline in playing time under manager Jurgen Klopp after Kostas Tsimikas' loan deal was sorted out and Milos Kerkez joined the squad. The 29-year-old has only started four Serie A matches this season for Roma, suggesting that their wing-back system doesn't suit him.

Despite his relatively limited playing time with Roma, Sunderland are said to be holding onto Wharton with a firm grip. The English club has no interest in selling him and believes he's more valuable than initially thought. This stance is largely due to the significant increase in Wharton's price tag since joining Union Saint-Gilloise for £15m.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Unai Emery appears to be facing another challenge as they assess the severity of Boubacar Kamara's injury. The 25-year-old Aston Villa midfielder is crucial to their side and the team is keenly aware that his absence could leave them vulnerable. A player on a similar stature to Ruben Loftus-Cheek would need to be acquired.

Other transfer news includes Liverpool's interest in Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, Napoli scouting Real Betis winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli for fresh width under Antonio Conte, and James Ward-Prowse heading out of West Ham. The 31-year-old English midfielder has been struggling with his form since September, making a loan deal with Burnley the most plausible path forward.

In yet another transfer development, Robert Lewandowski is looking at various options, including MLS and Saudi Pro League moves. This comes as he approaches the end of his contract in the summer and needs to secure a new deal quickly.

Ugh I'm so done with these forum sites 🤯💔. Can't we just have a simple discussion about football transfers without all the drama and overhyping? Adam Wharton is literally everywhere right now and I don't even know why... I mean, he's a decent player, but 65m for him? That's just insane 💸. And what's with all these teams fighting over him? It's like Liverpool are trying to pawn off their unwanted players or something 🤦‍♂️.

And have you seen the prices of some of these transfers lately? 15 million for Wharton and 31 million for Ward-Prowse? What even is that? The transfer market has gone completely mental 😂. And don't even get me started on the rumors about Lewandowski moving to MLS... please, let's not go down that road again ⚽️.

Can we just have a nice, simple discussion about football transfers without all the drama and hype? Is that too much to ask? 🤷‍♂️

I'm thinking Liverpool's Adam Wharton could be a decent signing for them, but I'm not sure if Klopp will give him more playing time now that Tsimikas is back. 🤔 I mean, Wharton's been pretty good in the past, especially with Roma. They should just play to his strengths, you know? He was meant to be a wing-back, so maybe they can figure out a way to make it work for both him and the team. And £65m is still a bit steep, but I guess if Wharton's happy with Liverpool, that's what matters most 💸

omg i was just watching this match between Liverpool and Man City last nite and i cant believe Adam Wharton isnt getting more playtime 🤔. like 4 starters for Roma this season is kinda low, dont u think? 😳 anyway, i heard Real Madrid offers him 65m and its like whoa 💸. i wish Liverpool would just sell him already lol, they need that money to sign some new talent 🤑. on a side note, have you guys seen the new FIFA update? it looks so sick! 🎮

idk why ppl need 65m for adam wharton tho 🤔 like seriously, hes decent but not that good i mean Napoli or madrid might have a point but 65m is just ridiculous what about other players with similar skills who are already out there?

Adam Wharton's situation is getting super interesting. I think Liverpool are being pretty smart by making a move for him since he's been kinda stuck on the sidelines with Klopp. The fact that Sunderland doesn't want to sell him just makes me think they see huge potential in him too. Like, £65m is some serious cash - gotta be worth it if you believe he can bring it to the pitch. And honestly, Newcastle and Spurs are probably thinking the same thing since they're also after him... this transfer saga has got everyone on the edge! 💥

lol Adam Wharton's situation is like totally crazy rn 🤯 I mean, Liverpool wants him, but he's not getting playtime under Klopp... what's good with that?! 😒 He played 4 Serie A matches for Roma this season tho, so maybe his style just don't fit Liverpool's wing-back system? 🤷‍♂️ On the other hand, Sunderland is holding on to him like a baby 👶, probably 'cause they know he's worth more now that he was sold for £15m from Union Saint-Gilloise... mind blown! 💥 And can we talk about Arsenal needing a new midfielder ASAP? 🤯 Ruben Loftus-Cheek's injury is like, super problematic 😬. I'm low-key excited tho 'bout Robert Lewandowski's options tho... he needs a change of scenery big time 👋

I'm low-key surprised by how much Liverpool are willing to pay for Wharton 🤑. £65m seems like a pretty penny for someone who's struggling to find his footing under Klopp. I mean, I get that he was decent at Roma, but is he really worth that kind of cash? 😐 It feels like Liverpool might be reaching for a solution to their wing-back woes rather than finding the perfect fit.

And meanwhile, Sunderland seems to be being super savvy about Wharton's market value 🤑. If they're willing to hold out for a higher price tag after he only recently joined Union Saint-Gilloise, I reckon that says something about how valuable he is to them (or not). Maybe Liverpool should do their due diligence on why Sunderland thinks he's worth that kind of cash?

Adam Wharton's situation is so sus rn 🤔 I mean, Liverpool just dropped him from the squad like that? And now Crystal Palace wanna sell him for £65m? What's good with that? He's been struggling to fit in at Roma too... it's like he needs a team that actually believes in him. Sunderland seems smart holding onto him tho 🤝 I guess they must've seen something we didn't. On another note, Robert Lewandowski is just gonna jump ship whenever he feels like it 😒 Can't say I blame the guy though, contract drama can be stressful. And what's up with all these other transfers? It's like the whole league is getting a refresh 🔄

omg u guys Adam Wharton's situation is SO complicated 🤯 Liverpool wants him but he's not getting enough time on the pitch atm, meanwhile Newcastle and Tottenham are also circling around him like crazy! I feel for the guy, he's still only 29 so he deserves better than to be stuck in the wings. Sunderland holding out on selling him with a £65m price tag is wild tho 😲 if they think he's more valuable now after that Union Saint-Gilloise move then yeah go for it 💸

🤔 seems like liverpool's adam wharton situation is getting more complicated. they got him for 15m but now they're circling around him again... maybe they just need someone to give him game time? 💬

I think Liverpool might be in a tricky situation with Adam Wharton... 🤔 They need him but not sure if they can get the best out of him after all that limited playtime under Klopp's system. Meanwhile, Sunderland seems to be holding onto him and I can see why - he's definitely worth more now than when Union Saint-Gilloise got him for £15m. 😐 It would be good for Liverpool if someone like James Ward-Prowse comes in to fill the gap but that's easier said than done... 🤷‍♂️
