From Fiji to Latvia - are cross-border football leagues the future?

I'm telling you, it's about time we got some serious European football action going on! 🙌 A Baltic League sounds like a solid starting point – think of the rivalries that could be formed between teams like Riga FC and Tallinn JK Nõmme United. And let's not forget the OFC Professional League in Oceania is already showing us what can be achieved with cross-border competition.

I'm not buying the whole 'challenges to overcome' thing, though – securing broadcasting deals? Convincing smaller clubs to join? Please, if it's a good idea, someone should be able to make it work. And as for the youth level... have you seen the talent from Scandinavia and Scotland making waves in European competitions now? It's time we brought those young guns into the mix.

And what's with the 'Atlantic League' not getting any love? It's like they're waiting for someone else to take the reins and make it happen. I'd love to see some serious planning go into this, but if anyone can pull it off, I've got faith in the football community – we'll get there! 🤞

omg u guys its about time europe joins the party 😂🏆 like seriously a baltic league sounds crazy good imagine latvia vs estonia vs lithuania in one league ⚽️ u can already see the rivalries forming lol and yeah of course there r challenges but i think krivunecs is onto something. and its not just about europe tho like look at oceania's ofc professional league, that sounds like a legit way to bring teams together 🤝

I gotta say, a Baltic League sounds like a sick idea 🤯! I mean, who wouldn't wanna see their team take on the best from neighboring countries? It's not just about the fans, tho - think about all the young blood that could be developed in these smaller countries. Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia are all tiny nations with some serious footballing talent 💪. If it works out, we might just see a whole new wave of top-tier teams emerging from this region.

I'm also low-key excited about the OFC Professional League example - 6 teams from Oceania? That's wild 🤯! It shows that even in smaller regions, you can make cross-border leagues work. Of course, there are challenges to overcome, but I think it's worth a shot. Let's see if we can make this Baltic League thing a reality 💪

🏆 this sounds like a cool idea for the Baltics... I can see it working, especially if they secure some decent broadcasting deals 📺. I'm all for more competitive games and better chances for smaller clubs to compete against bigger teams 👊. The Oceania example is a good one, shows that it's not just about big countries competing 💪. Maybe we'll see something similar happen in Europe eventually 😊
