Fundraiser planned for displaced Leland House residents as tenants wait for answers - Detroit Metro Times

just sad to think about these ppl stuck w/o heat & electricity for months 🤕 the city should help 'em out ASAP 💸 at least they're gettin support from ppl like us 👍

🤔 This situation at Leland House is really quite bleak, with 27 displaced residents still without electricity and heat after over a month. The fact that the funds collected will be split evenly among them is a step in the right direction, but we need to ensure that the money reaches those who need it most 🤑.

I'm also concerned about the potential sale of Leland House through an online auction – what will happen to the residents then? Will they have anywhere to go? The city's efforts to resolve the situation are unclear, and I hope they'll provide more transparency soon 🤞.

The 'dancing for solidarity' activity at the fundraiser sounds like a great way to bring people together and raise awareness about this issue 💃. I just hope it attracts a large enough crowd and raises sufficient funds for the residents in need ❤️. It's not fair that these long-time tenants are having to suffer while the building is being sorted out 🤕.

Ugh, great, another charity event just to make people feel better while nothing actually changes 🤕. Like, what's the point of donating money if it's just gonna go towards paying some energy company? It's not like they're gonna fix the building or give anyone a real solution. And don't even get me started on the logistics – 27 people are getting $200 each? That's like, $5k total? It's almost laughable. And what about the Red Roof Inn place they're staying at? Is that some fancy-schmancy temporary housing or just a budget hotel? I bet it's not exactly ideal living arrangements for these people...

omg like i cant even imagine living without heat and electricity 4 over a month 🤯! its crazy that ppl r having 2 cope w/ financial struggles n emotional tolls 🤕. i hope this fundraiser helps those displaced residents get back on thier feet 💪. btw, daryl stewart sounds like a total boss w/ his artistic skills n percussionist vibes 😎. n i feel u, dude, its super frustrating 2 not know whats going 2 happen w/ ur place 🤔. but at least ppl r sticking together 4 each other 👫. lets get that money 4 these ppl & help them get thier lives back on track 💸
