I'm reading all these articles about Gavin Newsom and I think there's some good in what he's doing... like, he's trying to bridge the gap between parties 
and having those podcasts where he chats with different folks 
can be a great way to get people talking. But maybe we should focus on why he's not standing up for certain issues that are important to the left 
? Like, his stance on billionaires and immigration policies might not be the most progressive... but is it because he genuinely cares or because of his donors? 
And what if Chait and Novicoff are just trying to fit Newsom into their idea of a perfect candidate?
Maybe we need someone who's more willing to challenge the status quo and take risks 
. I'm not saying Newsom is bad, but we need to have a nuanced conversation about what it means to be progressive and how to address some of these complex issues 
.Maybe instead of focusing on what Gavin Newsom did or didn't do, we should look at the bigger picture and think: how can we create a more just and equitable society for everyone?
That's what I'm rooting for... not just one candidate, but a whole movement of people who care about making a difference

i'm so confused about Gavin Newsom 
i mean on one hand he sounds super nice and charismatic 
but then there's all these dark secrets about him that are just wild 
like what even is going on with the billionaire tax act 
and why did he go to Davos and tell Trump to stand up to him?! 
which just doesn't add up since everyone's always talking about how much they love Bernie and AOC 
but what about the people who actually care about real change? 
but I think we're looking at this whole situation from the wrong angle 
maybe instead of trying to fit him into one box or another, we should just be like "hey Gavin, what are you actually for?" 
and stop worrying so much about labels
