Going beyond the surface in the Karst plateau: exploring the new cross-border geopark in Italy and Slovenia

🤔 The whole GeoKarst thing just sounds like a tourist trap waiting to happen... all those people flocking to the same spots and making it feel like just another overcrowded destination 🚫. I mean, can't they do something to actually preserve the natural beauty of the place? Like, no more selfie sticks and trash scattered everywhere 😒. And what's with the lack of real local input on this whole cross-border project? It feels like a bunch of well-meaning but clueless outsiders trying to "save" the region 🤷‍♀️.

And don't even get me started on the Via Napoleonica route... 3 miles of scenic views and then what? More tourists taking selfies in front of ancient rock formations 📸. Where's the depth, you know? Give me a good ol' fashioned museum any day 😴. At least those places have some actual substance behind them.
