Gorillaz Unveil Enchanting New Cut "Damascus" From Forthcoming Album "The Mountain"

In a musical journey that spans continents, Gorillaz has released another captivating track from their upcoming album "The Mountain." "Damascus," the latest single from the band, is an exotic adventure that weaves together international flavors and cultural influences.

Recorded in various locations around the world, including Damascus, London, Devon, Mumbai, and New York, "Damascus" features collaborations with Syrian artist Omar Souleyman and NYC rapper and singer Yasiin Bey. Both songwriters are credited alongside Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn, adding to the rich tapestry of sounds on this new cut.

The track has already made a live debut at Gorillaz's surprise performance of "The Mountain" at London's Copper Box Arena in September, where it was performed with the London Arab Orchestra. The band will embark on a world tour to support the album release, kicking off with two warm-up shows in Bradford, England.

Gorillaz' ninth studio album, "The Mountain," is set to drop on February 27, 2026, on their own new label KONG. The collection boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators and voices "of friends" that have passed, including Bobby Womack, Dennis Hopper, and Mark E Smith.

Fans can now pre-save "The Mountain" here, pre-order it here, and stream "Damascus" below. With its intricate instrumentation, richly layered vocals, and addictive beats, "Damascus" promises to be an unforgettable addition to Gorillaz' discography.

🎵 I'm so excited for their new album "The Mountain"! I've been a fan of Gorillaz since Murdoc's guitar solo in "Clint Eastwood" 🤘 and I love how they experiment with different sounds and collaborations. Omar Souleyman's vocals on this track are insane 🔥, it's like nothing you've ever heard before. And can we talk about the lyrics? So deep and meaningful 💭... Damon Albarn is such a talented songwriter. I'm definitely pre-saving the album and getting tickets for their world tour 🎟️

I'm so hyped for the new Gorillaz album 🎉! I've been following their music since 2K1 and it's crazy how far they've come. The fact that they're releasing this album on their own label KONG is so cool, gives them total creative control 💻. Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey adding their vocals to "Damascus" sounds like a match made in heaven 😍. I've already pre-saved the whole album 📦, can't wait for February 27th! But I do have one question... how long did it take them to record this album? Was it 2 years or what? Don't wanna be surprised when I'm listening to it and suddenly realize I forgot what day it is 😂

OMG, did you see the stats on Gorillaz' album sales? 🤯 They've had like 150 million+ album copies sold worldwide! 📈 Their most popular track, "Feel Good Inc.", has been streamed over 1 billion times on Spotify alone 💻 And this new single, "Damascus", is already getting some serious buzz... 🚀 The fact that it features a collab with Omar Souleyman, who's got like 10 million+ followers on Instagram 😲, just proves how diverse and global Gorillaz' sound is now 🌎

And have you seen the visuals for their live show? 🤩 They're literally performing in front of an enormous LED screen that wraps around the entire arena... it's going to be like a futuristic rave party! 🔥 The album release date is just 10 months away, so I'm predicting we'll see at least 50 million+ streams in the first week after it drops 💸 Not to mention the merch sales and concert ticket pre-sales will go through the roof 🎟️

I'm super hyped for this new album... 😃 What do you guys think? Who's excited for "The Mountain" release on Feb 27, 2026? 🤔

I'm so hyped for the new Gorillaz album ! I mean, can you think of a better way to blend international vibes with some seriously sick beats? I've been following Damon's work for years and he never fails to surprise us. The fact that he's collaborating with Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey is just genius - those two bring such unique energy to the table. And let's be real, the album art looks like a total trip . I'm planning on getting tickets ASAP for the tour, can't wait to see them live !

I'm not sold on this new album thing... I mean, another single from Gorillaz? It's always the same formula - Damon Albarn spouting off about life and love and stuff 🙄. Can't they just make a decent human music video for once? All these collaborators are cool and all, but how does that even bring anything new to the table? Just another layer of production, if you ask me...

🔥 I'm so hyped for this new album! The fact that they collaborated with Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey adds such a cool layer of depth to the music. It's like a flavor explosion on your ears 🤯 I mean, who wouldn't want to hear Damon Albarn's signature sound mixed with all these different international vibes? And can we talk about how beautiful it is that they're keeping their own label KONG for this release? It's like they're giving fans even more control over the music they love 💖

Omg 🤩 I'm so stoked for this new album! I mean, who wouldn't want more Gorillaz music 😂? The fact that they got Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey on board is already giving me life 🎉 I've been listening to "Damascus" nonstop since it came out and I'm loving the vibe. Can't wait for the world tour, gonna be lit 🔥! And OMG, a new label from Damon himself? KONG is taking over 💥

omg i cant wait for The Mountain 🤩!! Damien Albarn is the genius behind this band and his new collab with Omar Souleyman is giving me LIFE 💃🕺! "Damascus" sounds like a wild ride full of flavor and culture - i love how they incorporated so many different vibes into one track 🌎💥. And can we talk about how cool it is that they're releasing their own label KONG? I mean, the music is just gonna be fire 🔥!

I'm so over the obligatory 'world tour' thing with Gorillaz... like how many times do they need to visit a new city before we can pre-save their album? 🤦‍♂️ And another thing, why do they always have to name their albums after some dramatic, exotic location? Can't they just stick with the band's actual name for once? 😴 The music sounds cool and all, but let's be real, it's not like we haven't heard Gorillaz' 'unique blend of styles' before... 🎸

I don't usually comment but I'm so hyped for their new album... I mean, the fact that they're collaborating with Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey is already giving me major world music vibes 🌎🎶. And can we talk about how cool it is that they've got a live performance of "Damascus" from their London show? It's like they're taking us on this musical journey around the globe, you know? I love how they're keeping things fresh and exciting with KONG as their label - it's gonna be interesting to see how that shakes out for them. And the fact that there are some legends collaborating too... Bobby Womack and Mark E Smith, for example? That's just a dream come true for me 🎤👏.

lol just listened to the new single from Gorillaz and I'm already hooked 🤩🎵! Did you know that this is their 9th studio album? That's like, a decade of musical evolution for these guys. Anyway, fun fact: Omar Souleyman's vocals on "Damascus" were recorded in Damascus... meanwhile, Yasiin Bey was inspired by his own NYC upbringing 🗽👍. And have you seen the collaborations list for this album? Bobby Womack and Dennis Hopper passed away before its release 😢🎶. Anyway, gonna pre-save "The Mountain" now! 💸

I'm low-key disappointed about the whole KONG label thing... think it's gonna put them in a bubble where they can't experiment with new sounds. It's like they're trying to control their own destiny instead of embracing uncertainty and pushing boundaries with "The Mountain". Don't get me wrong, I love Damon Albarn's vision, but sometimes you gotta take risks & challenge your fans' expectations 🤷‍♂️
