Gov. Hochul seeks restrictions on 3D printers and ghost guns

idk why ppl still think 3d printed gun thing is a good idea 🤦‍♀️ it's like, we have laws in place for a reason... ghost guns are just a recipe for disaster 🚨 & now NY gov is trying to crack down on it 💪 at least they're taking steps towards making these things safer 🛠️ but i'm still not convinced that 3d printers should be allowed anywhere near firearms 🤔

I'm all for this move 🙌. I mean, think about it - we've seen some crazy stuff with those ghost guns in recent years, and it's only getting worse. Like, have you heard of people just printing out entire guns in their homes? It's wild. And the worst part is, these DIY gun makers are basically leaving a trail of chaos wherever they go 🚽. So yeah, if Governor Hochul wants to crack down on this stuff, I'm all for it. We need some stricter regulations around 3D printing, no doubt about it 💻. It's not like the manufacturers aren't already making enough money off these guns - we just need them to do the right thing and make 'em safer 🔒.

I'm kinda surprised about this new bill 😕 I mean, I get why Hochul wants to crack down on ghost guns and all, but I feel like it's a bit of an overreach, you know? Like, people are already super cautious when buying 3D printers online, right? 🤔 And what about the tech companies that make these printers? Aren't they just trying to innovate? 🤖 Don't they have some responsibility in keeping these things safe? 💻 I'm not saying it's all good or anything, but maybe we should be looking at this from a more holistic angle instead of just targeting ghost guns? 🤝

I'm low-key worried about this new bill 🤔. I get why Hochul wants to crack down on those DIY gun makers, but don't we need some balance here? I mean, 3D printing is a super cool tech that's supposed to democratize manufacturing and stuff... now it seems like we're just gonna have more hoops to jump through for legit hobbyists 🤦‍♀️. And what about the security risks from these new regulations? We don't wanna be stuck in some kind of digital lockbox, you feel me?

It's also kinda interesting that Hochul is going after ghost gun manufacturers with a separate provision... does this mean we're gonna see more legislation like this across the country? 🤝 And honestly, I'm not sure if making online instructions for 3D-printed guns illegal is gonna really cut down on the problem. It feels like we're just moving the issue around instead of tackling the root cause: a lack of regulation and oversight in the gun industry... 💡

I'm so worried about these new 3D printer regulations in NY 🤔. I think it's a good idea for the state to crack down on those ghost gun manufacturers who are making guns at home without following safety guidelines. It's crazy that we have people converting their homes into unsanctioned firearm factories - it's just not safe! 🚫

I also get why they're trying to make digital instructions for manufacturing 3D-printed firearms a crime, but aren't some of these manufacturers already doing that on the down low? It feels like we need more transparency and accountability in this industry. 💻

I do think it's good to hear that the governor is pushing for minimum safety standards for 3D printer manufacturers, though. Maybe that will help prevent some of these ghost guns from hitting the streets. Fingers crossed! 🤞

omg 🤯 I'm literally shocked by this new proposal from Kathy Hochul - stricter regulations on 3D printers? like i get it, safety first 💡 but isn't this kinda overkill? like, aren't ghost guns already super hard to make and track? wouldn't that limit the whole "do-it-yourself" aspect of these thingies? 🤔 also what's up with the Glock switch provision - seems like a lot of tech for just pistol manufacturers...
