so stoked for Green City Market finally getting a permanent spot 
it's about time we have more options for fresh & affordable food in chicago 
their "producer only" model is genius btw - means farmers are actually selling what they grow, not just trying to make a quick buck 
it's all about accessibility now, especially with those federal funding cuts to SNAP 
lets hope this space makes a real difference for low-income families & the community at large 
. I mean, it's been years and years since they were trying to find a new location. The fact that Abby Mandel had set aside $1 million from her foundation is just amazing . It's great to see that someone with means was thinking about the community and wanting to make a difference.
! That's perfect for people who want to buy fresh food without breaking the bank. I'm curious to try out their cooking classes too... have you guys tried any of them before? 
. It's like, food should be for everyone, not just the wealthy few. And with the SNAP funding cuts, it's more important than ever that we have places like this market.
! Like, the front room is all boring and stuff, but then you walk in and it's like a greenhouse paradise. Can't wait to see how they design it out

i mean seriously though, it's amazing that they're making this space accessible to everyone, not just the privileged folks who can afford to go. i remember when abby mandel started this whole thing back in 1999 and she had a vision of bringing fresh food to everyone regardless of income level or location. that's so inspiring! let's hope they can make it work and provide those community events as early as march 
so they finally found a place to do their thing... but 4k for a building? that's some steep rent right there. also, how does this benefit the community beyond just providing more accessible food options? what about jobs or economic growth? gotta see the numbers on that one 
IT'S ABOUT TIME WE HAD MORE ACCESS TO LOCAL PRODUCE AND I'M GLAD THEY'RE MAKING SURE FARMERS CAN SELL DIRECTLY TO CUSTOMERS. I MEAN, IT WAS ALWAYS REDUCED TO JUST A VENDOR-ONLY MARKET, WHICH ISN'T FAIR TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO SHOP THERE 
ANYWAY, THIS NEW LOCATION IS GOING TO BE AMAZING AND I CAN ALREADY IMAGINE THE COMMUNITY EVENTS THEY'LL HAVE THERE ! A year-round farmers market in Chicago is exactly what our city needs 
. It's going to be amazing to have that green space right in the heart of North Center, with all those bus routes and Aldi nearby . I can already imagine the community events they're gonna host - it'll be like one big happy family 
! And Steele is so right, farmers markets should be for everyone . No more exclusivity just because of income or location 
. This new spot is gonna bring so much joy and healthy food options to the city 
. Fingers crossed they can make it happen ASAP
