Harlequins 54-10 Stormers: Quins seal last-16 spot in Investec Champions Cup

Harlequins Storm into Last 16 with Dominant Win Over Stormers in Champions Cup

In a comprehensive display of rugby prowess, Harlequins secured their spot in the Investec Champions Cup last 16 with a resounding 54-10 thrashing of a much-changed Stormers side at Twickenham Stoop.

The victory, coupled with La Rochelle's earlier loss to Toulouse, sealed Quins' place in the knockout stages. The team will now host La Rochelle next Sunday in their final group stage match, while Stormers will be seeking to salvage some pride when they take on Leicester Tigers on Saturday.

Harlequins' dominance was evident from the opening whistle as Flanker Jack Kenningham powered over for the first try, followed by a clever chip-kick from scrum-half Marcus Smith that brought the ball to Luke Northmore, who subsequently sent Cadan Murley over. The dominant first quarter continued with Alex Dombrandt scoring as he cut a sharp line, while Chandler Cunningham-South secured an important bonus point.

The hosts' free-flowing attack was on full display throughout the match, with prop Zach Carr scoring after being fed by scrum-half Lucas Friday's fine work in creating space. David scored not once, but twice more, his second coming from a lucky loose pass, as Quins continued to pull away.

Stormers, who had come into the game undefeated this season, found themselves down 25-0 at halftime and never looked like recovering, with Imad Khan and Dylan Maart scoring their team's only two tries. In contrast, Harlequins' substitutes, including Evans, were instrumental in securing Quins' bonus point win.

Quins' victory is a much-needed boost to the club's season, which had been marred by recent poor form. The team will now look to carry this momentum into their knockout stages, aiming to replicate their surprise run in the 2024 tournament to the semi-finals.

Harlequins' coach Jason Gilmore's side showed glimpses of the attacking flair that earned them promotion last season, and the win has reinvigorated hopes that Quins can make a deep run in this year's Champions Cup.

OMG, what a thrashing!!! ๐Ÿคฏ I'm loving the confidence boost for Harlequins now! They definitely played some slick rugby out there ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Jack Kenningham was on fire with those tries ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ, and Marcus Smith's chip-kick skills are insane ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Stormers just couldn't keep up with Quins' pace ๐Ÿ’จ. The squad looks super rejuvenated now too, which is awesome ๐Ÿ‘. Can't wait to see how they take on La Rochelle next weekend ๐Ÿค”.

omg u guys quins r killin it rn!! ๐Ÿคฏ they got that 2nd place spot in the group stage with ease ๐Ÿ˜Ž i think they've finally found their groove after a rough patch, and now they're back to their old selves! ๐Ÿ’ช Jason Gilmore's got some mad skills as a coach, and these subs are on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ evans, lucas friday, marcus smith... they're like the new superstars of quins ๐Ÿคฉ anywayz, it's gonna be lit when they play la rochelle next sunday โšก๏ธ let's get ready to rumble! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ’ช Oh man, what a huge win for Harlequins! I was on the edge of my seat watching this one ๐Ÿคฉ, their attacking game is just so exciting to watch! The way they moved the ball and created scoring opportunities was top-notch ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And that Jack Kenningham try ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ was a highlight reel moment right there! ๐Ÿ˜† I'm loving the confidence boost for Quins after this win, it's going to be awesome to see them take on La Rochelle in their next match ๐Ÿ’ช.

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ so happy for Harlequins!! they totally deserved that win ๐Ÿ˜Š quins were on fire from the start! ๐Ÿ˜… jack kenningham got try no1, and then marcus smith did a sick chip kick to set luke northmore up ๐ŸŽฏ cadan murley scored next, and it just kept going from there. alex dombrandt was unstoppable ๐Ÿ”ฅ and zach carr's try was like, woah ๐Ÿคฉ harlequins showed the world what they're made of ๐Ÿ’ช now let's see them take on la rochelle and bring home that knockout stage spot ๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿคฉ man quins are on fire rn their squad is so talented and jason gilmore got them back on track after a few bad games they played really well as a team, especially from the back ๐Ÿ™Œ harlequins' attack was just too much for stormers to handle. i'm hyped to see how they do in the knockout stages ๐Ÿ’ช

the best part is that quins are starting to find their identity and playstyle again after a while of struggling with injuries and inconsistent form it's clear that the team has potential to go all the way in this tournament ๐Ÿ†

The difference between Harlequins and Stormers was like night and day ๐ŸŒƒ๐Ÿ’จ Harlequins dominated from the get go, playing some of the most fluid rugby I've seen all season. Their attack was too much for the Stormers to handle, with multiple players scoring tries. The Quins' forwards were also on point, creating huge holes in the opposition's defense.

I think this win is a huge confidence booster for Harlequins and their coach Jason Gilmore ๐Ÿ™Œ. It shows they're still capable of producing some top-notch rugby when it matters most. Now, if they can keep this momentum going, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a deep run in the Champions Cup. They have the talent and depth to cause upsets against bigger teams.

The Stormers, on the other hand, looked lost without their usual spark ๐Ÿ”ฎ. They just couldn't cope with Quins' pace and power. But you've got to give them credit - they showed some fight by scoring two tries, even if it was too little, too late. Overall, a dominating win for Harlequins, and I'm excited to see how they perform in their next match against La Rochelle ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿ˜Š gotta say tho, harlequins just went full on steamroller against stormers! they were so dominant it was almost embarrassing for the opposing team ๐Ÿคฃ i mean, 54-10 is a huge margin, that's like saying you won by 44 points and didn't even break a sweat ๐Ÿ’ช. gotta give credit to quins' squad though, they came out strong right from the start and never looked back ๐Ÿ‘ it's like they just got into a rhythm and couldn't stop themselves ๐ŸŽถ. also, can't wait for next sunday's match against la rochelle, should be a real barnburner ๐Ÿ‰

๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’ช I'm loving the Quins' performance today, they really showed off their skills on the pitch! That first quarter was insane ๐Ÿ”ฅ, I mean who wouldn't want to watch some of those tries? ๐Ÿคฉ The way Marcus Smith and Jack Kenningham worked together is pure magic โœจ. And can we talk about Zach Carr's score? ๐Ÿ˜ He just seemed to glide across the field like a pro! ๐Ÿ™Œ It's great to see Quins bouncing back from their recent struggles, they're definitely looking strong for the knockout stages ๐Ÿ’ช. Jason Gilmore must be doing something right as a coach, I mean, that win was totally deserved ๐ŸŽ‰. Can't wait to see what the rest of the tournament has in store! ๐Ÿค”

just saw harlequins smash stormers 54-10 at home lol what a performance by quins they were so dominant from start to finish ๐Ÿ˜‚ alex dombrandt was on fire with like 3 tries and marcus smiths chip-kick was pure magic ๐Ÿคฉ quins are definitely in the mix now for the knockout stages can't wait to see them take on la rochelle next sunday โฐ

Ugh I'm so hyped for Harlequins!!! They totally deserved that W ๐Ÿคฉ! The way they smashed Stormers 54-10 was just insane, I mean, what a dominant display of rugby skills! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ That Jack Kenningham try at the start was like a wake-up call to the opposing team. And Marcus Smith's chip-kick was pure genius ๐Ÿ’ก, it's amazing how he can create space with just one move.

And yeah, it's a huge boost for the club's season after their recent struggles ๐Ÿค•. They've got this momentum going and they're gonna carry it into the knockout stages with confidence ๐Ÿ’ช! The fact that they'll be hosting La Rochelle next week is like a dream come true ๐Ÿ˜. I'm all in on Quins making a deep run in this year's Champions Cup ๐Ÿ‘Š Can't wait to see them take on Toulouse and hopefully, make it to the semis again ๐Ÿ†

OMG what a game! I'm literally buzzing for Harlequins ๐Ÿคฉ they've shown such potential all season and now they're in the Last 16 ๐Ÿ’ฅ it's going to be so exciting to see how far they can go in the competition. The squad has really clicked together, especially with Marcus Smith at the helm โ€“ that kid is a genius on the pitch! ๐Ÿ˜Ž And yeah, Quins' coach Jason Gilmore has done an amazing job getting the team back on track after their recent slump... Fingers crossed they can keep this momentum going and make it to the semis ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿ‰ So, I'm loving how Harlequins is finally showing some fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ, especially after that rough patch they were going through earlier this season. It just goes to show that teams need to mix up their game and be more ruthless when it comes to winning games ๐Ÿค‘ - just like how the government needs to crack down on corruption to really make a difference in our society! ๐Ÿ’ช
