He lived in a cage, jumped from a window and spent a year roped to a friend: is Tehching Hsieh the most extreme performance artist ever?

I don't get why we have to scroll through so much info to read about Tehching Hsieh's art... 🤯 Can't they just make it easier to follow? This text is like a wall of words, I need a good summary or something! And what's with the format? All these short paragraphs and bullet points... it's like reading a Wikipedia article.

Can we have some pics though? Some images of Tehching Hsieh's art pieces would really help me understand the context better. Or maybe even a video doco about his life as an artist? That would be so much more engaging than this wall of text 📺

I gotta disagree with Marina Abramović saying Tehching Hsieh is the "master" of performance art... I think it's kinda messed up that he had to go through all this crazy stuff just to prove a point about time and equality. I mean, couldn't he've done that without basically torturing himself for years? 🤔

I also don't buy into his whole "documenting the human experience" vibe... sounds like he was trying too hard to be profound and ended up being kinda self-indulgent. And what's with all these performances being so strict and rule-bound? Can't people just live life a bit more naturally? 🙄

OMG you guys I just read about Tehching Hsieh and I am FREAKING OUT 🤯 he's like this Taiwanese artist who did some of the most EPIC performance art pieces EVER 🤩 his idea is to explore life, equality, and time through these extreme experiences 💥 like living in a tiny wooden cage for a year or punching a clock for 365 days straight 🕰️ it's wild! but what I love about him is that he's not trying to be all dramatic and painful, he's just trying to understand the human experience of passing time ⏰ you know? his work is so raw and honest, it's like he's sharing this vulnerable part of himself with us 🤗 I'm also obsessed with how he documented everything through photos and recorded conversations 📸👀 it's crazy to think about what he went through but at the same time, I can respect his commitment to his art form 💯

I'm mind blown by Tehching Hsieh's dedication 🤯💥 He spent years locking himself away from the world, just to prove that time is all we really have ⏰🕒️ and it's what makes us equal 💖 No matter what your background or status is, we're all just trying to pass time 😅 His art form may seem extreme, but I think that's the point 🤔. He's not about being masochistic or making people feel bad; he's about showing us how fragile life can be and how we must appreciate every moment 🌞💫 And to see his work all in one place is so moving 🎨💕 The fact that he continued creating art without sharing it with the world until he passed away is truly inspiring 💗

I mean, can you imagine living like that for real? Tehching Hsieh's stuff is so intense! He's literally testing the limits of human endurance, and it's wild to think about how much dedication he puts into his art. I get why people consider him a master of performance art – the guy has been pushing himself to the edge for decades. But at the same time, there's something really beautiful about his work... like, he's not just torturing himself, but trying to understand what it means to be human. The Time Clock Piece is crazy, I can imagine how hard it must've been to sit there and punch that clock every hour on the dot 🕰️💪
