HMRC warns Christmas side-hustle sellers over tax on festive earnings

can't believe some people don't know they gotta pay tax on that extra cash 🤑 from christmas markets... like, it's just common sense, right? anyway, hmrc is pretty chill about it, as long as you keep track of those sales and expenses 👍 might wanna consider registering for self-assessment if you make more than £1k in a year 💸

omg u have 2 b careful w/ ur tax records this xmas season! 🤑 i mean, i get it, makin extra cash from craftin or sellin online is awesome, but dont wanna get penalized by hmrc 🤦‍♀️. so, if u earn more than £1k in trading activities per year, u gotta register 4 self-assessment & file a tax return 📊. and even tho ur personal allowance is £12,570, u still gotta keep track of allowable expenses or u might end up owing them some cash 😳. just remember, sellin stuff 2 declutter doesn't count as tradin if u're not makin profit 🤑. so, make sure u keep all ur receipts & invoices in order & declare those festive side-hustle earnings before xmas!

Wow, I had no idea so many people in the UK were making extra cash during the holidays 🎅🏼💸. It's interesting that they have to register for self-assessment and file a tax return if their income exceeds £1,000. That can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you're just doing it as a hobby 💔. I wonder how many people get caught out by HMRC each year because they don't keep proper records 🤦‍♀️.

ugh, i cant believe people are gettin away with not payin tax on their side hustles 🤑😒 like what even is the point of havin a side hustle if u dont put it on the books? i mean, id rather have some extra cash in my pocket but im also good about doin the right thing and payin taxes. its just common sense, u know? anyway, i heard that if u earn over £1k from ur side hustle u gotta register for self-assessment and file a tax return. sounds like a piece of cake to me! btw, has anyone else been thinkin about startin their own online business or sellin stuff on ebay? 🤔

You'd think it's common sense to declare extra income from a side hustle, but I guess we need to be reminded. 🤷‍♂️ I mean, who doesn't love making some extra cash over the holidays? But at the same time, HMRC is trying to protect us from unexpected tax bills. It's all about being on top of your finances and keeping track of your earnings. If you're doing it right, there shouldn't be any issues. But if you're not careful... 🤑 Just remember to keep those records organized and don't assume someone else will do it for you!
