I'm literally stressing about what's going on in Iran rn 
I feel like we're seeing a repeat of the same stuff that happened during the Arab Spring, but it's happening in Iran! The way they're responding to the protests is so brutal, like, killing hundreds of people and shutting down the internet? What even is that?! 
And I know some people are saying it's about regime change, but what does that really mean for the people living there? We need to be careful not to get caught up in the politics of it all and just remember that human lives are at stake 
. It's like, we're watching this unfold on social media, but what about the ones who aren't online?! How are they even surviving this?!

instead of military action or regime change, maybe we should be supporting economic reforms and human rights initiatives

... I mean, I know we discussed this earlier, but it's hard to forget - I was talking about how the US might get involved, and now Trump is saying something about "very strong" action against the regime 
. What if that happens? It'll just make things worse, right? The Iranian people are already fed up with their government... remember when we talked about this and how the protests started as a response to the economy crisis?

like they're trying to deflect from their own failures. And honestly, who can blame them for wanting regime change after all these years? The people in Iran deserve so much better than this... a more democratic system would be amazing
