I think the US is getting a bit too creative with its definition of terrorism. I mean, it's one thing to go after actual terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS, but labeling organized crime groups as terrorists just seems like a way to justify regime change in Venezuela. And what about all the people who get caught up in the violence? Are they really just "terrorists" too?
It's also weird that this move comes when the US is supposed to be moving on from the post-9/11 War on Terror. I guess you could say the Trump Admin is still trying to find its way on counterterrorism...
