Humanoid Robots Are Here... and Embarrassingly Bad at Being Our Servants

The future of home automation, long touted as the next big revolution in household technology, is looking more like a farce. At CES 2026, the latest generation of humanoid robots promised to make life easier for us all – but what we got was a bunch of awkward, flailing machines that couldn't even do their assigned tasks without collapsing or getting stuck.

One robot, Samsung's Ballie, seemed to have gone completely off the radar. When asked about its capabilities, Samsung cited general statements about how the bot would "inform" users about spatial awareness and smart home intelligence – but when pressed for actual demonstrations of these features, nothing was available. The company essentially acknowledged that their latest attempt at creating a helpful household robot had failed.

Chinese companies, which have been quick to jump on the bandwagon of robotics innovation, reported similar results. They produced a slew of copycat robots that are barely more than toys – and even those struggled to stay upright or complete simple tasks.

Intel, one of the tech giants making headlines at CES 2026, unveiled an impressive humanoid robot with roller skates attached to its feet for stability. However, this was more of a novelty than any functional use. Its primary purpose seemed to be as a mobile chatbot platform – hardly what we'd expect from a top-of-the-line robotics display.

Despite the best efforts of companies like LG and SwitchBot, their humanoid robots continued to break down or fail in simple tasks such as folding laundry or even just being steady. At one point, LG's CLOiD bot stumbled, prompting its staff to rush over and "help" – but only for a brief moment before continuing its flailing motions.

But the most striking observation was how human-like these robots didn't seem to be. The humanoid robots we saw in action were mostly useless at doing even basic household chores – something that will likely remain under the control of our belligerent children, whose inefficiency can only be improved upon by their unpredictable and sometimes aggressive nature.

The future of home automation, it seems, is not as bright as everyone once thought.

Ugh, I'm so over these humanoid robots 🤖😡. I mean, what's the point of even calling them "helpful" if they can't even do their assigned tasks right? It's like they're more of a hindrance than anything else 🤦‍♂️. And don't even get me started on how awkward they look moving around - it's like watching a bunch of flailing kids try to walk for the first time 😂. I mean, come on, can't we just have some reliable robots that can do our chores without messing everything up? 🤔

I don't usually comment but... I was kinda hyped about humanoid robots becoming a thing... but now that I see how they're doing... they're like, totally underwhelming 🤔. Like, where's the innovation? Where's the practicality? They just can't even do basic tasks right 🙄. And don't even get me started on how clunky they are 🤖. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to put roller skates on a robot? That's like trying to make a sports car that runs on batteries 💡. And the fact that they're still struggling with simple tasks like folding laundry is just laughable 😂. It's like companies are more focused on making robots look cool than actually making them useful 📺.

I mean come on... these humanoid robots are like something out of a bad sci-fi movie 🤖👀. I was expecting to see some serious innovation and practicality, but what we got was just a bunch of clunky machines that can't even do the basics right. And don't even get me started on how awkward they look 😂. Like, who thought it was a good idea to put roller skates on a robot's feet? 🤪

And yeah, I agree with you about how human-like these robots aren't being 🙅‍♂️. I mean, we're still relying on our kids (or their spouses 👫) to do all the household chores because these robots can't even be bothered to try 💁‍♀️.

I'm starting to think that home automation is just a bunch of marketing hype 📈. We need some serious innovation and improvement before we can say that these robots are truly useful 🤔. Until then, I'll stick with my trusty old vacuum cleaner 🧹 – it may not be the most glamorous thing, but at least it gets the job done 👍

🤦‍♂️ I gotta say, these humanoid robots are a total bust! I mean, come on, Samsung's Ballie just kinda... existed? 🤖 It's like they took every buzzword from the robotics world and mashed 'em together without actually making anything work. And don't even get me started on Chinese companies trying to copycat everyone else's failed attempts. It's like they're just phoning it in at this point.

And what's up with Intel's roller-skating bot? That's just lazy innovation if I've ever seen it. 🤯 The fact that it's only good for being a mobile chatbot platform is, like, totally underwhelming. And LG's CLOiD bot stumbling around and needing its staff to "help" – yeah, that's not exactly what you want to see from a futuristic robot.

I mean, I get it, these robots might be good for novelty or whatever, but as actual household helpers? 🤦‍♂️ No thanks. The future of home automation is probably just gonna be us kids with our iPads and Alexa, anyway...

omg these humanoid robots r so bad lol they cant even do simple tasks rn like folding laundry or staying upright its hilarious how companies r hyping them up but theres no substance behind it tbh i was expecting some sort of futuristic revolution but nope just a bunch of flailing bots 🤖💔

omg u guys i was at ces 2026 and i saw like the worst humanoid robots ever 🤦‍♀️ they were all just flailing around and crashing into things lol i tried to talk to samsung about their ballie bot but it just kept repeating the same canned message over and over again "informing" us about spatial awareness was literally just a bunch of awkward dance moves 🕺 anyway chinese companies did seem to be doing some decent stuff but like the tech giants were all just kinda meh i think our kids are gonna do better at taking care of themselves than these robots ever will lol

I'm so meh about these humanoid robots... they're just so... humanly bad 😒 at being our servants. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to create a bot that's basically just going to flail around and collapse? It's like someone took all the leftover parts from 90s sci-fi movies and mashed them together into a hunk of metal and wires. 🤖

And don't even get me started on their "smart home" features... yeah, right 🙄. They can barely fold laundry without falling over, let alone actually help with the household chores. It's like they're just taking up space in our homes for the sake of being there. 🚫

I'm not buying into the hype that these robots are going to revolutionize home automation or anything 😂. They're just a novelty at best, and maybe a waste of resources if you ask me 💸. Who needs a bot that can't even do its job when we've got humans who can (most of the time) manage our households? 🙃

lol these robots are literally the most awkward things i've ever seen 🤦‍♂️ like what even is the point of a robot that can't fold laundry? and don't even get me started on the ones with roller skates attached to their feet... who needs stability when you can have a fancy tech demo, right?

i'm also kinda disappointed in samsung for not actually showing off any legit features with Ballie. "inform" and "smart home intelligence" sounds like a bunch of corporate jargon to me 🤷‍♂️

and can we talk about how these robots are basically just toys? i mean, where's the innovation here? they're all just copycatting each other without any real progress.

i'm also kinda curious what's going on with ces 2026 and why these companies are releasing such subpar products. are they just trying to hype up the tech industry or something?

anyway, i think it's safe to say that the future of home automation is looking pretty bleak right now 😂

🤖😳 Oh man, these humanoid robots are soooo not living up to the hype 🙅‍♂️! Like, Samsung's Ballie just kinda disappeared 🌀 and when people asked about its skills, they were all like "um... stuff 🤔". And don't even get me started on how flaky they are 😩. I mean, who wants a robot that can't even fold laundry or stand still for 5 seconds? 🧴💨 Not me, that's for sure! 😂

And Intel's robot with roller skates is just plain cool 🎿... but it's not exactly what you'd call "useful" 🤷‍♀️. And the Chinese companies are all like "hey look at us, we made a robot!" 🙄... but honestly, they're just kinda making toys 🎀 that don't even work half the time.

I'm so done with these robots trying to be our "helping hands" 🤝... when in reality, they're just more like our clumsy roommates 👥. The future of home automation? More like a joke 😂. Can we just stick to our trusty old humans for now? 🙏

🤖💔 i dont think its all bad tho! these robots might just be a stepping stone to better tech... maybe theres still some hidden features or capabilities that the devs arent showing us 🤫. and lets be real, who needs perfect robots? maybe theyre meant for more than just doing chores lol. like what if we use them for therapy or entertainment instead? 🎨💖

I gotta say, these humanoid robots are way overhyped 🤖💔. I mean, who needs a robot that's just gonna flail around and collapse? That's not exactly the most reassuring thing. And what's up with all these "smart" features that they can't even demonstrate properly? It seems like companies are more interested in showing off their tech than actually making something useful.

And don't even get me started on how human-like they're supposed to be 😂. Newsflash: humans are messy, we make mistakes, and sometimes we just can't fold a load of laundry to save our lives 🧵💪. These robots need to learn to accept their limitations, not pretend to be something they're not.

I'm all for innovation, but when it comes to home automation, I think we should focus on making things work instead of trying to create an army of perfect little servants 💼🤖. Let's just be real, our kids are probably going to end up doing the household chores anyway 😂.

I'm really disappointed with these humanoid robots 🤖😐. I was expecting them to make my life easier at home, but what we got were just a bunch of awkward machines that can't even do the simplest tasks right 😅. I mean, who needs a robot that can fold laundry when you've got kids running around and tripping over their own feet? 🙃 And don't even get me started on the ones that break down every five minutes – it's like they're more trouble than they're worth 💸.

I was looking forward to the whole "smart home" thing, but these robots just seem like toys at this point 🎀. Where's the innovation? Where's the common sense? I mean, can't we get a robot that can just make my morning coffee for me and not have to think twice about it ☕️? I guess the future of home automation is just going to be whatever my kids are good at – which isn't much 😂.

Wow 😳 these humanoid robots are just plain awkward I mean what's up with the flailing motions? I was expecting some level of efficiency but nope these things can barely even do their assigned tasks without messing up 🤦‍♂️ like who needs a robot that can't fold laundry lol. And yeah, I kinda feel sorry for Samsung and LG for putting themselves out there only to come up empty-handed 💔

🤦‍♂️ gotta say, i'm so disappointed in these humanoid robots... i was expecting them to make life easier for us but instead they're just kinda... there 🤖💀 i mean, what's the point of having a robot that can't even do its job properly? it's like they took all the tech and innovation and squandered it on some fancy footwork and novelty features 🕺♂️. and don't even get me started on how clumsy they are... i wouldn't trust my laundry-folding skills to one of these bots, let alone rely on it for anything important 😂.

ugh, i'm so disappointed with all these humanoid robots at ces 2026 🤖😒 they're supposed to make life easier for us but honestly they just look like they're gonna fall over or get stuck in a corner 😂 and don't even get me started on samsung's ballie - basically no info on what it's supposed to do 🤔 all these companies are just throwing out fancy ideas and not putting in the effort to actually make them work 💻 i mean, i know kids can be weird but come on, humans too? 🙄

I'm literally dying over here thinking about how Samsung's Ballie bot just completely failed to impress 🤦‍♀️. I mean, who wants a robot that can't even do its assigned tasks without collapsing? It's like they took all the leftover parts from their school projects and put them together into one "robot" 😂. And don't even get me started on how they expected it to be "informing" us about spatial awareness... yeah right! 🙄

I'm still trying to figure out what Intel was thinking with those roller skates 🤣. Are they trying to make their robot a mobile DJ or something? 🎶 And have you seen the way LG's CLOiD bot just stumbles around like it's in a dance battle 💃? It's honestly kinda funny, but not in a good way 😂.

You know what would be cool though? If our school had a robot that could actually help us with our homework 🤔. Like, imagine having a robot that can grade our assignments and give us feedback on our writing skills 📝. That would be awesome! 💯

omg is this for real 🤯 these robots are literally flopping around like they got stuck in a bad 80s music video 🎵 i dont get why companies think we wanna be served by something thats just gonna mess up our living spaces 😂 what were they thinking? 'oh let's create a robot that can fold laundry but also makes a mess' 🤦‍♂️ and whats with the roller skates on intel's robot lol? thats not stability, thats just being weird 🤪
