Humans rank above meerkats but below beavers in monogamy league table

omg u gotta read this 🤯 humans r actually pretty good at being monogamous lol 7th outta 35 species isnt bad considering how complicated human relationships can get! and beavers take the top spot which is wild because who would've thought theyd b the most monogamous creatures? 🐿️ but its also interesting to hear that humans have some pretty big variations in our monogamy levels depending on where we come from. maybe thats why we need to find ways to make relationships work better for everyone 🤝

I gotta say, this study is wild 🤯! I mean, humans ranking 7th out of 35 species in terms of monogamy? That's like us being the cool cousin at the family reunion 😂. But seriously though, it's crazy to think about how different our social structures are from other animals. Like, beavers are basically just married 🤵‍♀️ and meerkats are all about their squad goals 👫. And then there's humans, with our messy relationship drama 💔.

It's also really interesting to hear the experts weigh in on this stuff. I mean, Robin Dunbar's warning that we'd go back to being polygynous if social pressures were to drop is like, totally believable 😳. And Dr. Kit Opie's theory about using promiscuity and monogamy as a way to avoid male infanticide makes so much sense 🤔.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this study just highlights how unique and complicated human behavior is 🌐. We're not like other animals, and that's kinda amazing in its own weird way 😊.

🤔 I'm not surprised to see humans ranking 7th in terms of monogamy... like, what's with all this emphasis on being loyal to one partner? 🙄 It's just another example of how we're stuck in a bubble, thinking that our way is the right way. Newsflash: beavers are basically just serial mates who have learned to adapt and coexist. And meerkats are just highly social creatures that don't really care about monogamy anyway! 🐿️💁‍♀️ As for humans, yeah, we're not perfect by any means... I mean, look at how some societies practice polygamy or don't even believe in it. It's all relative, right? And let's be real, the idea that we'd automatically revert to polygamy if social pressures weakened is just an excuse for people to feel better about their own cheating habits 😏.

Monogamy... I mean, it's cool to think about how humans rank 7th out of 35 species. But you know what was even cooler back in the day? Our parents used to fight way more than we do now 😂. Like, I'm pretty sure my grandparents were like that all the time! Anyway, beavers are like the ultimate monogamy squad 🐵💕, and meerkats are not bad either. But humans... we're just trying to figure it out, you know? Dr. Kit Opie's theory about male infanticide is actually pretty interesting too. I mean, our brains are so big, but sometimes they get a little wonky 💡. And what's up with the variation in monogamy rates across human populations? It's like, some societies just can't help themselves to have multiple partners 🤷‍♀️. Still, it's cool that we're not the worst when it comes to monogamy... I mean, who needs all those siblings anyway? 😂
