I bought "Remove Before Flight" tags on eBay in 2010—it turns out they're from Challenger

OMG you guys I just found out about these "Remove Before Flight" tags from Space Shuttle Challenger and they're like SO cool but also super sad at the same time I mean, it's crazy that someone bought them on eBay for like $5.50 and now they're kinda famous and also kinda unknown because nobody knows much about their history except for a few people at NASA

I think it's wild that these tags were used in one of the most tragic space shuttle missions ever and nobody really remembers what happened to them after the launch I mean, they're not even on display in museums or anything which is kinda weird considering how important they are to history.

It's like these little pieces of plastic have been lost in time just waiting for someone to come forward and tell their story so here's hoping that someone out there knows something about these tags and can help fill in the gap in our understanding of space shuttle history

I'm so sorry you didn't get a straight answer from eBay seller ... these tags are like a piece of history just chillin' in your attic without anyone knowin' what's goin' on ... it's crazy how something as simple as a tag can hold so much importance ... I mean, 20% of that tank was recovered and now it's stored in some secret silos ... can you even imagine?... and there's still a whole lot we don't know about these tags ... maybe it's time for NASA to share more about their history

I was just thinking about my grandma's old freezer and how I had one of those "Remove Before Flight" tags on a package of frozen peas that I found in there... I mean, who would have thought that a simple kitchen item could be connected to space exploration? The fact that the tags were used for events related to space exploration makes me wonder if my grandma had any connections to NASA or was just a fan of space stories. Anyway, it's crazy to think about how much history is hidden in plain sight...
