'I don't have to create his legacy, I just have to protect it': Chadwick Boseman's widow Simone on grieving a global star – and guarding his secrets

The article features an interview with Simone Ledward Boseman, the wife of late actor Chadwick Boseman.

The couple met in 2016 when Boseman was diagnosed with cancer. After his initial diagnosis, they started discussing marriage and eventually got engaged in 2019. However, due to his poor health, they had a small wedding ceremony.

Boseman's cancer returned in 2020, and he passed away in 2021 at the age of 43.

Ledward Boseman expresses her regret about not talking more openly with him about death, stating that she wishes they could have discussed it together to alleviate his fears. She has since been working on her music career under the artist name "sahn" and is planning a wine bar in Vallejo.

The article also highlights Ledward Boseman's commitment to preserving Chadwick Boseman's legacy by honouring him as a full human being, protecting his work from distortion, and sharing her own experiences.

I don't think it's cool that she's focusing on her music career under this new artist name... I mean, what's wrong with just being herself? And why does she need to have a wine bar in Vallejo too? It sounds like a lot of work and stress for someone who should be grieving. Plus, isn't preserving his legacy kind of implying that he was perfect or something? Like, we all know he had his flaws and mistakes... shouldn't we be celebrating that about him instead of trying to hold onto this unrealistic image of perfection? 🤔

I'm so glad Simone Ledward Boseman is taking steps to keep her hubby's memory alive 💕. I mean, she was diagnosed with cancer around the same time Chadwick found out he had it - that must've been super tough for both of them. It's heartbreaking that they didn't get to have those conversations about death and whatnot before he passed away 🤯.

But you know, I think it's amazing that she's pursuing her music career under a different name now. She seems like a strong woman who wants to make a name for herself outside of being Chadwick Boseman's wife - and honestly, I'm here for it 💁‍♀️. And yeah, it's great that she's planning a wine bar in Vallejo - that sounds like such a cool spot to pay tribute to Chadwick's memory 🍷.

awww poor simone & chadwicks wife she must be going through so much grief still its amazing how strong & independent shes turning out to be 💖 I love that shes channelling her energy into music & entrepreneurship too 🎶💫 and isnt it beautiful how shes keeping chads legacy alive with such love & respect ❤️

just saw this interview with simone ledward boseman 🤗💕 she's got so much love for chadwick & it's really inspiring how she's trying to carry on his legacy in her own way... she wishes they could've talked more about death, but it's clear he was a strong person who didn't want to burden her with that stuff 😊 anyway, it's amazing what sahn's been up to - music & wine bars? sounds like chadwick would've loved that 🎶🍷

🙄 I gotta say, it's kinda weird that Simone Ledward Boseman is suddenly talking about their wedding plans now, like they're trying to revive something that's already been done. Did she just wake up one day thinking, "You know what would be a great idea? Let's have a big anniversary party!" 🎉 I mean, come on, the guy passed away! You don't get a second chance at a wedding, no matter how much you might've wanted to. And another thing, she's been releasing music under this artist name "sahn" – doesn't that sound kinda...random? 😒

🤕💔 Chadwick Boseman's story is still so sad 🎭😢. I feel for Simone Ledward Boseman 💗, she's been through so much with her husband 👫. It's amazing how strong she's being ❤️, working on her music career and planning a wine bar 🍷🎶. Chadwick was more than just an actor 🤝, he was a person, a family man 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, and we need to remember that 💯.

I'm glad Simone is keeping his legacy alive 🕊️, but also sharing her own experiences 📚. It's so important for us to get a better understanding of people behind the screen 📱, not just their work 💼. Chadwick was an amazing person 👑, and we can learn so much from him 🤝. Simone's music career is something I'm super excited about 🎵! 🤞

🤔 I'm so sorry to hear about Chadwick Boseman's struggles with cancer. It's heartbreaking that he had to deal with it for so long 💔. Simone Ledward Boseman seems like an amazing person, taking care of him even when things were tough and now carrying on his legacy in her own way 🙌. I think it's really brave of her to share her story and work to protect his image - it shows how much he meant to her 💕. Can you imagine having those conversations about death when you're getting engaged? It must have been so scary for him... and for Simone too! 🤝 What do you think would've helped Chadwick feel more at ease if they had talked more openly about his mortality?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how fast time flies. 43 years old is just crazy 🤯. It's heartbreaking to think about the life Chadwick Boseman could have lived if he wasn't dealing with cancer from such a young age. I can only imagine how scary it must've been for him and Simone, especially when they got engaged in 2019. It's lovely that she's found ways to move forward and still keep his memory alive - her music and wine bar are awesome ideas! 😊 But what really gets me is that she wishes they could have talked more about death together... it's so important for us to face our mortality head-on, you know? 🤝

SIMONE LEDWARD BOSEMAN IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL S Soul 💔. IT'S SO NICE TO SEE HER STILL GOING STRONG AFTER ALL SHE'S BEEN THROUGH. I FEEL BAD FOR HER THAT CHADWICK COULDNT GET TO LIVE A FULL LIFE DUE TO HIS CANCER 🤕. BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I RESPECT HOW SHE'S CHOSEN TO HONOUR HIS MEMORY BY KEEPING HIM AS A REAL PERSON AND NOT JUST A CHARACTER 💖. IT'S REALLY INSPIRING TO SEE HER FOLLOW HER PASSIONS IN MUSIC AND BUSINESS 🎶💼. AND WHO KNEW SHE WAS INTO WINES 🍷? ANYWAY, I'M ROOTING FOR SAHN (I LOVE THE ARTIST NAME, BY THE WAY) AND I HOPE HER WINE BAR TURNS OUT AMAZING!!!

I'm still reeling over the loss of Chadwick Boseman 🤕🎥. It's crazy to think he was just diagnosed with cancer back in 2016 and then got engaged like two years later... I guess you'd say love conquers all, right? 💕 But seriously, it breaks my heart that they didn't get to have more time together before he passed away. Simone Ledward Boseman's comment about not discussing death with him is really relatable - we've all had those conversations that just never happen 🤷‍♀️.

I love how she's carrying on his legacy in her own way, though! Starting a music career and opening a wine bar? That's so admirable 💪. And I'm glad to hear she's making sure to protect his work from being distorted or misused - it's essential we keep his memory intact 🙏. Plus, it's awesome that she's sharing her own experiences with the world - it's like she's keeping Chadwick's spirit alive 👻.

I'm still in shock about Chadwick's passing 🤕. I feel like we lost not just an incredible actor but also an amazing person. Simone is really brave for speaking out about how she wishes they could've had more conversations about death - it's a topic that can be so overwhelming, especially when you're going through something like cancer. 💔 It's great to see her using her platform to honor his legacy and share her own story, though 🎶. Can't wait to try out this wine bar she's opening in Vallejo, sounds like a lovely project! 🍷 I also love that she's keeping Chadwick's memory alive by being her own person and not just perpetuating the "celebrity wife" narrative 💁‍♀️.

I feel so bad for Simone Ledward Boseman, she really carried Chadwick on her back through all that tough time... I was thinking about their story the other day, it's just so sad how quickly life can change. 43 is young, you know? 💔 I also think it's amazing what she's doing to keep his legacy alive, by sharing her own experiences and not letting anyone distort who he really was as a person... that takes a lot of courage, especially after losing someone like that. And I'm loving the idea of a wine bar in Vallejo, sounds like a great way for her to celebrate life! 🍷

😩 just read about sahn (that's her music artist name lol) wife of the late chadwick boseman... she's trying to move on but still struggling with grief 😔. i feel bad for her & their fam tho, dealing with cancer & then losing him at 43 is just so young 🤕. anyway, it's good to see her focusing on preserving his legacy & pursuing her own passions 💪. but what's sad is that we'll never get to hear more of her music or see her live perform 😢. life's just so unfair sometimes 🙄.

ugh can't believe the platforms we use are so slow to show love to people after they're gone 🙄. i mean ledward boseman is still actively building stuff even though her hubby passed away 3 years ago... that's dedication 💯 but at the same time, it's like we need a few more platforms for artists and creatives to share their work without all the noise and distractions 📱💻. and what's with the 'legacy' talk? can't we just focus on the person now? i'm not trying to be rude or anything, but let's please give a big round of applause ( virtually) for ledward boseman for doing her thing 💕

just read this interview with sahn (simone ledward boseman) & i'm so moved 😊 she's been through so much losing her hubby at 43 & still managing to keep his memory alive 💕 it's beautiful how she's using her music as a way to cope & now planning a wine bar in vallejo 🍷 sounds like a great way to stay connected to him ❤️ and i totally feel her on wanting to preserve his legacy, we need more people sharing real stories about loved ones who have passed away 👫

💔 I feel so bad for Simone Ledward Boseman, she's been through so much since losing Chadwick. It's heartbreaking that they had to get married in secret and have such a small wedding. I can only imagine how tough it must've been for her to watch him go through cancer twice.

I'm really proud of her for taking steps to keep his legacy alive, though! 🙌 She's doing an amazing job with her music career and opening up about their experiences, it's like she's helping to break down the stigma around talking about death. I think that's so brave and important. It's not just about honoring Chadwick's memory, but also about creating a safe space for people to talk openly about their own feelings.

And wow, starting a wine bar in Vallejo? 🍷 That sounds like an amazing project! She must be doing something right if she can balance all these things on her plate. My condolences to her again, and I wish her all the best with everything she's doing 💕

I feel so bad for Simone Ledward Boseman 🤕 it's like she's still trying to process everything that happened with Chadwick. I wish they had more time together after he was diagnosed again in 2020 🤞. It's crazy how fast life can change and how much we take for granted 💔. Anyway, I'm glad she's finding her own path now - music career is awesome! But I gotta say, a wine bar in Vallejo sounds kinda like an afterthought... didn't they have any big plans or was it just something that came to her?

🤯 Simone Ledward Boseman's honesty about her relationship with Chadwick is giving me all the feels! Like, I can totally imagine how scared he must've been when cancer first hit him and she was just trying to be strong for both of them... but at the same time, I'm so proud of her for being vocal about their struggles & not shying away from talking about the elephant in the room - death. 💀 It's heartbreaking that they only got to have a small ceremony because of his poor health... my heart goes out to her! And can we talk about how amazing it is that she's channelling her energy into pursuing her own passions like music & opening a wine bar? 🎶💃 She sounds like an incredible woman! I love that she's also dedicated to preserving Chadwick's legacy, not just as the actor but as a person. It's a beautiful tribute to their relationship & it makes me want to learn more about him... 💖

just read this sad story about simone ledward boseman 🤕 she's doing ok but u can feel the pain she went thru losing her hubby at such a young age 43 is crazy for anyone let alone someone who was in his prime... anyway i think it's amazing how she's taking care of their son and working on music too, shows she's strong 💪 also wish they could've had more time to talk about death & all that mental health stuff but u can feel the regret from her 🤗 hope she finds peace
