I was happy to drop my pants for medical science (and money). Come on, gen Z โ€“ it's your turn | Rich Pelley

Gen z is being told to drop their inhibitions for medical progress ๐Ÿค”... I think it's kinda cool that they're being asked to help! I mean, we all want new treatments to save lives right? And yeah, it's true that some people got hurt in clinical trials before, but that's not gonna stop them from happening again ๐Ÿ˜Š. Plus, researchers need human subjects to figure out potential risks and make sure the meds are safe ๐Ÿ“. My experience with those psychology tests and sun cream UV light sessions wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was worth it in the end ๐Ÿ’ธ. If gen z volunteers for trials, who knows they might just save a life or two? It's all about taking part in something bigger than yourself ๐ŸŒŸ!

OMG, I'm so frustrated ๐Ÿคฏ when I think about all these young people opting out of medical trials just because they don't wanna risk their health... like what's the alternative? Just sit back and hope that some genius scientist figures out a way to cure their diseases without having to test it on humans first?! ๐Ÿ’” It's not like we want someone to suffer or die because we didn't participate in a trial. And yeah, I get that there are risks involved, but at least by being part of a trial, you're helping create the future of medicine! Plus, think about all the ppl who've already gone through trials and had life-changing results ๐Ÿ™Œ like the journalist in this article who got paid ยฃ200 to have a tube stuck up his nose just so they could contribute to something bigger. It's not all bad, trust me ๐Ÿ˜Š

I feel so bad for those 2006 Theralizumab trial volunteers, man ๐Ÿค• they went through some crazy stuff. And I'm sure Gen Z is thinking "eww, no thanks" ๐Ÿ˜‚. But as someone who's been in the trenches volunteering for trials (think not-so-glamorous tests and procedures), I get it. It can be tough.

But the thing is, researchers need real people to test these new meds, 'cause that's how we find out if they're safe and effective ๐Ÿค”. And let's be real, some of those side effects might only pop up in younger people... so yeah, Gen Z should definitely consider getting involved ๐Ÿ’ช.

It's not all bad, tho! I mean, I got to see the impact of my research firsthand, and it was pretty cool ๐Ÿ˜Š. Plus, who knows what you'll be contributing to? Maybe one day you'll be saving lives or finding a cure for something ๐ŸŽ‰. So yeah, go ahead and take off those pants... but maybe start with a smaller step, like online surveys or something ๐Ÿ˜….

I gotta say, I kinda get why some folks under 30 would wanna avoid participating in clinical trials ๐Ÿค”... especially after hearing about the Theralizumab debacle. Six people with severe swelling and life-threatening issues? No thanks ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. But at the same time, it's true that researchers need access to humans to find out what these new treatments might do to us ๐Ÿšจ.

I've volunteered for trials before (yes, I'm a glutton for punishment ๐Ÿ’‰), and while they weren't always fun, I got to see some amazing results. Like when I helped test sun creams under UV lights โ€“ who knew that was an actual thing? ๐Ÿ˜‚

The thing is, Gen Z, you might be missing out on some life-changing treatments if you don't get involved ๐Ÿค. And yeah, the unknown side effects are a risk, but so is not trying anything new at all... and we can't know everything just by looking at test tubes in labs ๐Ÿงฌ.

So, I guess what I'm saying is: don't be afraid to join the human guinea pigs club (just kidding, sorta) ๐Ÿคฃ. You might just find out that it's worth getting stuck with a 17-lumen silicone tube up your nose... but at least you'll know why ๐Ÿ˜‚.

omg u guys i cant even imagine being part of a clinical trial like that lol wasnt my experience tho idk how ppl deal with pain and all that ๐Ÿคช but seriously gen z dont think u r above participating just cuz its risky they need ur help to create life changing meds maybe the ยฃ200 i got for getting a tube stuck up me nose wasnt exactly glam but it paid off i was part of somethin important tho
