ICE Arrested Father Who Cared for His Ill Son — Then Denied His Request to Attend Son’s Funeral

This is absolutely heartbreaking 🤕. Can't believe they're making him stay in detention even when his son's having a funeral. I mean, what kind of system prioritizes national security over human life and dignity? It's like they're treating families like pawns in a game. Maher was with Wael every step of the way during that tough battle - he shouldn't have to spend the last days on this earth stuck behind bars. This whole thing just shows how messed up our immigration system is 💔. The fact that Wael recorded a message saying he didn't want to die until he saw his dad again, and now we're seeing ICE try to rip them apart... it's just too much 🤯
 
🤕 OMG this is so sad, how are people expected to live with these kinda decisions? three months without seeing their loved one and then being told they cant be there at the funeral 🚫 it's likeICE has no heart. Maher was literally taking care of his son while he was sick and now his own son is gone but still cant have his dad by his side 💔 it just makes me so angry and sad all at once 😤
 
It's just so messed up... I mean, I know it's not easy being an immigrant, but this is ridiculous. Maher was literally holding it together for his son while he was sick, and then they take him away like that? And now Wael is gone and Maher can't even be there to say goodbye?! 🤕 It's just heartbreaking. ICE needs to rethink their policies, fam... I mean, what's more important, national security or being a good parent? 😭 It's not right.
 
this is just heartbreaking what kinda system do we live in where a dad cant even see his terminally ill son before he passes away 🤕😢 i mean yeah i get that detaining people is a big deal but come on, this guy was literally caring for his kid every day of his life and now he gets sent back to detention like nothing's wrong with it 😡 what is ICE even thinking?!?! at least wael got to express his desire to see his dad again before he went 💕 can we please just talk about revising these policies so this never happens to anyone else?! 🤝

And then they have the nerve to tell him he can't even be there for his own son's funeral? 🚫 It's like they're playing with people's lives, you know? The fact that Wael wrote a message just days before dying saying he wanted to see his dad again is heartbreaking... it's like ICE doesn't care about human lives at all. Maher should be able to be there for his son, period. 🤷‍♂️
