Manayunk is gearing up for a chilly Saturday in late January as it transforms into a winter wonderland with Founders Philly Freeze-Out. For one day only, Main Street will be abuzz with ice sculptures, chowder enthusiasts, and craft beer aficionados.
Over 20 stunning ice sculptures will adorn the neighborhood, with live carving demonstrations taking place throughout the day. Witness the artists at work as they shape and transform these icy masterpieces in real-time. What's more, the carvings are dynamic, changing with each passing minute, making for an immersive experience that will keep you engaged.
But it's not just about the art; runners can get in on the action with a casual group run kicking off at 9 am. This free event is open to all participants and provides a great way to warm up before the main festivities begin at 11 am.
Beyond the ice, the festival offers a variety of activities that are sure to appeal to families. A winter market comes alive near the Richards Apex lot, featuring local vendors selling handmade goods, small-batch food items, and shopping deals galore. Foodies will be spoiled for choice as they sample chowder from participating restaurants – with tickets starting at $18.
Craft beer enthusiasts won't want to miss out on Founders Brewing's special deals available at participating bars. Other fun attractions include a moonbounce, walk-through igloo, and mobile gaming truck.

I think it's dope that Manayunk gets to be a winter wonderland for one day only! As the saying goes... "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now." Maybe they should do this more often?

. Manayunk's got some amazing spots, and I'm sure the winter market is gonna be a blast. My only concern is that it might get pretty crowded – but I guess that's just part of the fun 
i've been practicing my ice sculpture skills with my bf's ice cube trays at home lol we're planning to come super early to check out the carvings and maybe even join in on the group run at 9 am. our little one is obsessed with moonbounces so they're gonna love the moonbounce too 
we're also low-key hoping to score some free chowder samples lol tickets are kinda pricey for us but it'll be worth it for the fam fun
