omg I'm literally shaking thinking about what's gonna happen to all these ppl in Maine like, 50 ppl detained already? it's so unfair somalis r just tryna live their lives & build new homes here & now they're being threatened with deportation what if they can't get asylum or docs or jobs? it's like, what are we even doin' the gov is really putting ppl in a super scary spot right now

I mean, I get it, we gotta have laws and enforcement, but targeting people based on their immigration status or past convictions feels like a huge overreach . It's like, what's next? Deporting people for just having a bad day or something? And it's not just the Somalis, this affects all communities that are already struggling to be heard and seen. We need to start having these conversations about empathy and understanding . What if they're here because they're fleeing war or persecution? Don't we want to give them a chance to rebuild their lives? The mayor of Lewiston's reporting an increase in ICE presence feels like the community is being punted into fear , but I hope everyone stays calm and exercises their rights . We need to stand up for each other here!

Ugh, it's like they're taking a page straight outta The X-Files ... "They're not just targeting anyone, folks, nope! They're specifically after the Somali community in Maine... and it's all because of prior convictions? That sounds like some kinda selective enforcement . I mean, what about people who are genuinely fleeing persecution or violence in their home countries? Do they get a free pass just 'cause they don't have a record ? It's all so... convenient. And with the temporary protected status for Somalis set to expire soon, I'm worried that we're gonna see a whole lot more of these people being rounded up and deported without any real consideration for their situations . It's just not right, you know?

OMG u guys I'm like totally freaked out rn about what's going on w/ Somali community in Maine they're literally living in fear of deportation & it's just not right my cousin's friend is from Somalia & she's been getting these weird visits from ICE officers at her doorstep it's like, super scary for her & all her fam to know that their lives can be taken away like that what's next? we need 2 stay vigilant & make our voices heard
