I'm telling ya, this congestion pricing thing is more than just a simple cash grab . They're trying to control the flow of traffic to make way for... who knows what? Maybe they're planning on expanding their underground tunnels or something. And don't even get me started on how it's affecting air quality . I mean, 22 percent decline in particulate matter is no joke! It sounds like a study was cooked to make the government look good .

And what about all those people who can't afford to pay? Are they just going to be stuck on public transit forever? This whole thing smells like a cover-up to me. I'm not buying it (pun intended, lol ). They're probably using the money from tolls to line their own pockets or something. Mark my words!

omg i just read this article about the new york city toll and i'm like totally shocked that it's working!!! i mean who wouldn't wanna pay a little extra to avoid traffic?! i was thinking it would be super frustrating but apparently it's making everything better for public transit too. can someone explain how it works tho? my friend just told me about congestion pricing and i'm like "what even is that?" anyway yeah the MTA made some cool upgrades with all the money they got so i guess it was a win-win

I'm not surprised about the congestion pricing working out, it's kinda like when they introduced parking meters back in the day and people just got used to it. But still, 21 million fewer vehicles entering Manhattan since tolling began is pretty crazy. I mean, I remember when I was a kid, we used to love listening to our parents complain about traffic jams on the Long Island Expressway... good times .

And yeah, the MTA making money from the program is nice, but what really matters is the air quality . I've lived in NYC for years and I can attest that even with all the progress, pollution levels are still a major issue. It's interesting to see how congestion pricing might affect it though... we'll just have to wait a few years to find out .

The fact that public transit ridership is up is also a huge plus . I remember when I was in high school, the subway was always so packed and dirty... but now it seems like people are actually using it again! The Second Avenue Subway extension? That's some next-level stuff .
