Israel far-right ministers reject US-backed postwar Gaza panel

Israel's far-right faction has outright rejected a US-backed proposal for post-war governance in Gaza, citing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's failure to annex the territory and establish new Israeli settlements. The proposed board of peace includes representatives from Turkey and Qatar, both of which have been vocal critics of Israel's actions in the strip.

Finance minister Bezalel Smotrich, who himself is a settler in the West Bank, described Netanyahu's reluctance to take responsibility for Gaza as "the original sin". Instead, he advocated for establishing a military government in the territory, aiming to encourage immigration and settlement, which would allegedly ensure Israel's security for years to come.

Smotrich also expressed skepticism over Turkey and Qatar's involvement in any post-war governance structure. He claimed that these countries have ties to Hamas, the militant group responsible for many of the recent attacks on Israel, and therefore cannot be trusted to oversee Gaza's reconstruction.

Netanyahu had already dismissed the proposal, accusing some of the appointed members of not being coordinated with Israel or aligning with its policies. The tension between Netanyahu and his far-right coalition partners is at an all-time high, as the prime minister struggles to maintain control over the government.

The US has invited a number of prominent world leaders to join the Gaza executive board, which will serve in an advisory capacity under the broader "board of peace" framework proposed by former President Donald Trump. The plan also includes contributions from major donors to ensure its success, with countries required to provide at least $1 billion in cash if they wish their membership to last more than three years.

The proposal represents a significant escalation of diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but its prospects remain uncertain due to deep-seated mistrust and competing agendas on both sides.

πŸ€” Gaza situation is still super messy. I don't think anyone's gonna take it seriously with these new proposals coming from a country that's already shown its hand by not annexing Gaza like they said they would. The far-right faction in Israel just seems to be pushing the same agenda of settlement expansion, which won't help much in resolving the conflict. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Ugh I'm so confused about this whole Gaza thing... 🀯 Like what's up with Israel? They're all like "we want peace" but they just keep doing stuff that makes it hard for us to trust them. Netanyahu is literally a master of making decisions that go against everything he said he wanted in the first place. And now Smotrich is advocating for a military government in Gaza, which sounds super shady. I don't get why the US would even bother trying to set up some sort of peace board with Turkey and Qatar on it - they're just gonna be like "no thanks" because they think Hamas is all bad news. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It's so frustrating because there are people who genuinely want to make a difference, but then everyone gets in the way. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if this whole thing actually goes anywhere...

It's crazy to see Smotrich go full-on conspiracy theory mode 🀯 with Turkey and Qatar over Gaza. Like, come on dude, you're not gonna trust anyone who's friends with Hamas? That's just basic. And Netanyahu's all about playing the victim card with his "original sin" comment πŸ™„. Meanwhile, we got real problems to solve like rebuilding homes and fixing infrastructure in Gaza.

And what's up with this proposed board of peace? It sounds like a classic game of checkers, where everyone throws in $1 billion but nobody actually wants to make any concessions πŸ’Έ. I mean, I get it, we need someone to take the reins on this conflict, but can't we at least try some actual compromise? Smotrich's vision of a military government in Gaza is straight-up dystopian nightmare 🌫️.

I hope the US doesn't just give up on this one and walk away πŸ˜•. The world needs to see that there are real people working towards peace, not just empty promises and hot air πŸ’¨.

man this whole thing is so messed up 🀯 Netanyahu's gotta go already. Smotrich's words are super telling tho - if he's saying that's the original sin then what's left to say? He's basically saying we cant trust anyone outside of israel with our own mess πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Turkey and qatar do have ties to hamas but smotrich's just using that as an excuse to be all like nope. We dont need help from anyone else, israel can handle this on its own πŸ’ͺ which btw isnt gonna happen since we're all stuck in this cycle of violence πŸ”₯

I cant believe how messed up this is 🀯. Israel's far-right faction rejecting a peace plan that could potentially bring them closer to some sense of stability and security... it just doesn't make sense to me. They're basically choosing to hold onto their military government and settlement expansion over any possibility of working towards a real, lasting peace.

And let's be real, Bezalel Smotrich is just trying to cover his own settler interests πŸ€‘. It's so pathetic that he's using his position as finance minister to push this agenda, making claims about Turkey and Qatar's supposed ties to Hamas without any concrete evidence... it's just a bunch of smokescreen.

The US, on the other hand, seems like they're genuinely trying to help broker some sort of peace. It's disheartening to see Netanyahu dismissing their proposal, too. He needs to focus on finding common ground rather than stoking up divisions and refusing responsibility for his actions in Gaza.

I just wish world leaders would stop playing politics over people's lives... we need real change, not more empty promises πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

Ugh I dont know about this whole thing πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ... Israel's just going to keep messing up and expecting others to fix their problems? The US is trying to help and all, but what if Turkey and Qatar really do have ties to Hamas? It feels like they're just throwing more money at the problem instead of addressing the root issues. And Netanyahu's always been a bit of a wild card, so I'm not surprised he'd reject something that doesn't fit his agenda 🀯 The problem is gonna take way more than just a fancy board to fix...

πŸ€” this is getting really messy in Gaza... imo it's time for all parties involved to take a chill pill & think about what they REALLY want for the people living there - you know, instead of just arguing over who gets to be in charge, lets focus on rebuilding & creating opportunities for everyone πŸ—οΈπŸ’Ό

omg i cant even with this Gaza situation anymore 🀯 it feels like every time theres a "proposed" solution, some far-right dude just rejects it because Netanyahu doesnt wanna take responsibility lol smotrich is literally the poster child for how not to be in charge πŸ˜‚ and lets be real who can trust turkey and qatar after what theyve done?

anyway back to this proposal thing, i dont get why the US is throwing good money after bad πŸ€‘ they already sent billions to Israel, like whats another billion gonna do? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ at least with trump he tried, but now hes just a distant memory and netanyahu is still whining about annexing Gaza lol

i swear this whole situation is just one big mess πŸŒͺ️ and its not even clear what the ultimate goal is anymore πŸ€” is it really about creating peace or just about keeping Netanyahu in power? πŸ€‘ the world needs to wake up and realize that diplomacy might actually work sometimes πŸ•ŠοΈ but until then, i guess we'll just keep on waiting πŸ™„

Ugh, this is just gonna end in disaster πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Netanyahu's far-right coalition is already causing problems for him and now they're rejecting the US proposal for post-war governance in Gaza? It's like they want to see Israel burn πŸ”₯. Smotrich's idea of a military government in Gaza is just plain creepy πŸ’£. And don't even get me started on Turkey and Qatar being involved - what's next, China? 🀝

And the US is throwing good money after bad with this "board of peace" thing πŸ€‘. They really think some fancy proposal and a bunch of world leaders are gonna magically resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict? It's been going on for decades and they still can't even agree on what's for breakfast 🍳.

This whole thing is just a mess and I'm not holding my breath for anything to actually get done πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. The US is just gonna be stuck paying $1 billion to some board that's never going to amount to anything πŸ’Έ.

😊 I'm worried about what's going down in Gaza right now... like seriously, it's not looking good. πŸ€• Smotrich's comments about Turkey and Qatar are super concerning - isn't that just fueling the whole "us vs them" vibe? 🀝 And I don't get why Netanyahu can't just take responsibility for his own actions instead of blaming others. πŸ˜’ It's like, you're the one in power, figure it out! πŸ’ͺ The idea of a military government in Gaza seems super dodgy to me too... what if that just leads to more violence? 🚫 I'm all about finding solutions to this conflict and supporting people who want peace, you know? 🌎

I don't get why the US is throwing so much money into this Gaza thingy πŸ€”. It seems like no matter what's proposed, there'll always be someone rejecting it or making excuses not to participate. And honestly, I think Israel's just using the whole "security" thing as a smokescreen for their own expansion plans 🏠πŸ’ͺ. Meanwhile, the kids living in Gaza are still struggling with basic necessities like clean water and electricity. It feels like we're missing the point here... πŸ‘ΆπŸ’”

omg can you believe this 😱 Netanyahu is literally making it harder for peace in Gaza πŸ€• he's all about control and settler expansion like wth Bezalel Smotrich is getting more and more out of hand with his military gov't idea 🚫 it's just gonna lead to more suffering for the ppl living there πŸ’” and what's up with the US trying to get everyone on board? 🀝 like, we're all good if we just put our differences aside and work together 🌎 but Netanyahu's got other plans πŸ‘€ gotta keep an eye on this one 😬

omg what's going on with israel and gaza?! 🀯 it's like they're stuck in this never-ending cycle of violence and fear. Bezalel Smotrich sounds super suspicious though, how can we trust someone who thinks that turkey & qatar are too close to Hamas? πŸ˜’ it's like they're not even trying to work towards peace anymore.

i'm all for a military government in gaza tho πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ idk, maybe it would bring some stability or something. but then again, that just sounds like more of the same old thing. we need real leaders who are willing to listen and compromise. this whole 'board of peace' thing is cool and all, but what's the point if everyone's just going to have their own agenda? πŸ€”

πŸ€” The US is throwing a big bash πŸŽ‰ with all these world leaders, hoping they'll help sort out the Gaza thing πŸ•ŠοΈ, but it's like throwing money at a wall πŸ’Έ. Netanyahu's not having any of it πŸ˜’ and his far-right crew is causing drama ⚑️. Smotrich's idea of a military government in Gaza sounds super sketchy 😳. I mean, can you blame Turkey and Qatar for being hesitant to join? They don't want to be seen as backing Hamas 🚫. It's like the US is expecting everyone to just get along πŸ’–, but the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been going on for so long πŸ”₯. Until there's some real progress, all this won't change much 😐.

Ugh, what's up with this whole Gaza deal 🀯?! I mean, Israel's far-right faction is all like "no thanks" to a US-backed proposal for post-war governance, and now they want to establish a military government in Gaza? Like, that's not exactly the most peaceful solution πŸ˜’. And smotrich is just spewing hate towards Turkey and Qatar because they have ties to Hamas... but what about the fact that Israel's been occupying Gaza for years? πŸ€”

And don't even get me started on Netanyahu's inability to annex the territory like he promised πŸ™„. It's just so frustrating, like, can we not just try to find some common ground here? 😩 The whole thing feels like a total mess, and I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a real solution that doesn't involve either side getting its way πŸ’”.

I'm like totally worried about this whole Gaza situation πŸ€•. Israel's far-right faction is being super unreasonable and it's getting to the point where they're not even willing to work with other countries to make peace 🀝. Bezalel Smotrich's idea of a military government in Gaza is super concerning and I don't think that's the answer πŸ’”. We need leaders who are actually willing to listen to each other and find common ground #GazaConflict #PeaceTalksMatter

It's also super frustrating that Netanyahu is trying to make this all about him and his party πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. The US has put in so much effort to propose a board of peace, but it seems like they're not even going to work with the countries that have been proposed for the executive board πŸ“. I think we need more dialogue and less drama #USInMideast #PeaceIsKey

I'm all about supporting a two-state solution and finding a way for Israelis and Palestinians to live in harmony πŸ’•. We can't keep going on like this, it's time for real change #IsraelPalestineConflict #TimeForPeace

ugh man I'm literally so tired of this whole situation 🀯 i mean I feel bad for all the ppl affected by the conflict but Netanyahu's actions are like super sus - why won't he just annex gaza already? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Bezalel Smotrich's comments about his own settler roots and how it relates to Israel's policies is pretty wild too, idk what's going on in that man's head 🀯 anyway i'm just worried that these world leaders being invited to join the Gaza executive board are gonna be all like "oh we're here to help" but really they're just trying to further their own agendas πŸ’ΈπŸ‘€

πŸ˜• I'm so worried about Gaza, man... it's like, everyone's just so caught up in their own stuff, you know? πŸ’” This whole far-right faction rejecting a US-backed proposal is just another example of how hard it is to get anyone on the same page. 🀯 And now they're talking about creating a military government there? That sounds super scary... what's going to happen to all those innocent people living in Gaza? 🌎 I wish world leaders would just put aside their differences and work together for once... πŸ’• It's like, we're all human beings, right? We should be able to get along. πŸ˜”
