Jaxson Dart says the NFL 'isn't soccer'. The Giants need him to start acting like a quarterback

Jaxson Dart has been on the receiving end of some heavy hits this season, but it's his willingness to take them that's truly alarming. The Giants' rookie quarterback plays like a linebacker in a quarterback's body, and while his style has earned him fans who love his "rah-rah" bravado, coaches are growing increasingly concerned about the toll it takes on his health.

Dart's recklessness has become the defining tension of his young career, and after taking another bone-crushing hit near the sideline in Monday night's 33-15 loss to the Patriots, he brushed himself off and delivered a post-game sermon on toughness. "We're not playing soccer," he said. "You're going to get hit. Things happen." But for Dart, it seems like things are happening too often.

In his eight NFL starts, Dart has absorbed as many unnecessary hits as any rookie quarterback in recent memory. On Monday night, he took a particularly heavy hit from Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss, which left Peyton Manning speechless. "Obviously, he told me he would run out of bounds if he was near the sideline," Eli Manning said. "He lied to me." Dart's willingness to put himself at risk is admirable, but his lack of self-preservation is a concern.

The hit left by Elliss is just one example of the toll that Dart's playing style is taking on his body. In his first season in the league, he has already been in the concussion protocol four times, including preseason. That's a staggering number for a rookie quarterback, and it raises serious questions about his long-term health.

The NFL is a brutal sport, and quarterbacks are often the ones who take the biggest hits. But Dart's willingness to put himself at risk is not just about being tough – it's about being reckless. And that recklessness has consequences.

Dart's coaches and teammates are trying to tell him that he needs to change his style, but so far, he hasn't shown any willingness to listen. "Any time I get hit, I want to fall two yards forward," he said. That may be fine in college, where a quarterback can start for one or two years before moving on to the pros, but it's not acceptable in the NFL.

The Giants' front office and coaching staff are growing increasingly concerned about Dart's health and well-being. They need to protect him from himself, even if it means sitting him out until he learns to prioritize his safety above all else.

In the end, Dart needs to develop a sixth sense for when the extra yard is worth the bruise and when it's not. He needs to learn that being a quarterback in the NFL is not about out-toughing linebackers or running through safeties' faces – it's about making smart decisions on the field.

For now, though, Dart's impulsiveness is off, and his willingness to put himself at risk is unsustainable. The Giants need to take action, both on and off the field, to ensure that their rookie quarterback can play the game safely and effectively for years to come.

Dart's playing style is like a ticking time bomb – it's gonna blow up in his face sooner or later 🤯. He's already been in the concussion protocol four times, and that's just not normal for a rookie QB. I get that he wants to be tough, but come on, being reckless isn't the same as being smart. Dart needs to learn to read the situation and make smart decisions on the field – it's not about out-toughing guys, it's about making plays safely. The Giants' coaching staff is right to worry about his health, and they need to take action to protect him from himself. Sitting him out for a while might be the best thing that can happen to him, or else he'll end up with a career-ending injury 🤕

omg is it really necessary to get hit that hard tho?? 🤯 Dart's gotta learn how to read the defense and avoid those big hits lol he's all cool about getting knocked around but his body's like "hey, slow down" 😂 i feel bad for him tho he's got some serious concussion issues 🤕 and it's not cool when ppl try to get away from the sideline 🏃‍♂️ Dart needs to chill out a bit & focus on making smart decisions on the field 🙏

I think Jaxson Dart needs to be judged for being a natural leader on the field 🤔🏈. His willingness to put himself in harm's way is admirable, but also really concerning 😟. I'm not saying he should just throw up his hands and say "oh woe is me" when he gets hurt - that's not what winners do 🙅‍♂️. But maybe we need to reevaluate what it means to be a tough QB in this league 💡? Dart's style may have earned him some fans, but I think the Giants' coaches and front office are right to be worried about his long-term health 🤕. It's time for him to learn that being smart on the field is just as important as being bold 💪.

this is crazy... jaxson dart's willingness to take hits is admirable, but like, so not cool 🤕 he's already been in the concussion protocol 4 times this season! that's insane. i get it, quarterbacks are tough, but dart's style is just reckless 🙄 and coaches & teammates are trying to tell him to change, but he's all "any time i get hit, i want to fall 2 yards forward" 🤦‍♂️ like, what's wrong with you, dude? 🤔 the giants need to step in and protect dart from himself... it's not about being tough, it's about making smart decisions on the field 💡

🤔 I'm so over these "rah-rah" QBs who think being tough means putting yourself in harm's way all the time 🙄. Newsflash, Jaxson: taking unnecessary hits isn't being tough, it's being reckless 😒. Dart needs to learn that there's a difference between playing hard and playing stupid 🤦‍♂️.

And what's up with these "post-game sermons" on toughness? Dude, if you can't handle a little hit, maybe you shouldn't be out there taking them in the first place 🙃. And don't even get me started on the concussion protocol - four times already?! That's not a rookie thing, that's a recipe for disaster 💥.

The NFL needs to crack down on this kind of behavior ASAP ⏰. It's time for these QBs to start prioritizing their health and safety above all else 🤝. Otherwise, they'll be the ones who end up on the sidelines, not just physically but mentally too 😬. The Giants need to step in and make some changes before it's too late 🚨.

Ugh I'm so worried about Jaxson Dart 🤕... He's got that whole "tough guy" vibe going on which is actually kinda admirable 💪, but at what cost? 😱 The dude's already been in concussion protocol four times 🤯 and it's like, yeah okay he wants to be a rebel and all that, but COME ON 🙄. His coaches are right to be concerned about his health... I mean, Peyton Manning was left speechless after one of those hits 😲 - that's not something you want to see.

I don't know if Dart can change his ways overnight, like, he's got that whole "rah-rah" attitude going on which is cool and all 🤪, but he needs to learn when to hold back 💔. It's not about being tough, it's about being smart 💡... and yeah maybe in college football it's okay to run wild and crazy 🏈, but the NFL is a whole different ball game 🎾. Dart needs to prioritize his safety above all else... let's hope the Giants can get him to see sense soon 😂

omg u guys i cant even right now 🤯 jaxson dart is literally putting his health 2nd to his ego rn & it's just not cool 👎 he needs 2 chill out & take care of himself on the field, it'snt worth risking a permanent brain injury 💔 like seriously coaches & teammates r tryin 2 tell him but he jus wont listen 🙄 this is gettin serious 😬 gotta protect his future, not just his ego 💪

I'm still rewatching that hit by Christian Elliss 😱. It's crazy how Jaxson Dart just brushes it off like nothing's wrong 🤔. He needs to realize that being a QB is about being smart on the field, not trying to prove a point 💡. I mean, Peyton Manning saw him lying when he said he'd run out of bounds... what does that say about his willingness to listen? 🤷‍♂️ And four concussions in preseason already? That's insane! 🙅‍♂️ The Giants need to step in and help him develop a sense of self-preservation, or else his career might suffer 🚨. I'm not saying he needs to change who he is, but being reckless just isn't working out for him right now 😬

I'm so worried about Jaxson Dart's safety 🤕💔 He's got this whole "tough guy" thing down pat, but it's starting to worry me. Four times in concussion protocol already? That's just not right 😩. As a parent, I would never want my child to take unnecessary risks like that on the field. They're trying to protect him, and rightly so! 🙌 The Giants need to sit him out for a while and remind him that being tough doesn't mean putting himself in harm's way. It's all about being smart and making good decisions on the field 🤓
