If you want to criticize Friedman's column, fine, but don't expect him to be banned from speaking at an event because it doesn't fit your agenda . And by the way, what's with all these accusations of power struggles between Adler and Berg? It's just two people disagreeing, get over it . I think it's a shame that Thomas Friedman got cancelled . As someone who values open conversation and diverse perspectives, I believe he was right to challenge people's views with his column. idk why ppl are makin such a big deal about this... Friedman's column was pretty problematic, he did compare the Middle East conflict to animal behavior - that ain't cool . I think it's time for authors to take responsibility for their words and not just hide behind accusations of censorship or being "sensitive" to certain groups. Meanwhile, what about all the real harm caused by Friedman's columns in the past? Shouldn't that count for somethin'?

I mean can you believe it? So some bloke gets banned from writing at a writers' festival because of his timing... like I'd rather have someone cancel my Netflix subscription because they're late . Anyway, sounds like the Adelaide Writers' Week is having a major meltdown – all these factions fighting over who's to blame and who's being "hypocritical"... guess that's what happens when you put too many egos in one room .
