omg i just found out about this so what happened in portland? from what i read it seems like protesters werent that violent and most damage was to property instead of people, but trumps admin wanted to deploy troops anyway. i dont get why they cant see that protests happen peacefully too. i guess thats the thing with trump tho, he just likes to stir up drama and do whatever he wants without thinking about the consequences
lol this is insane... like Trumps admin thinks it can just deploy troops to any city whenever it feels like it? newsflash: its not a war zone, gentrification protests in Portland vs. actual threats to national security anyone? I'm low-key relieved that the judge shut this down, but at the same time, I get why the cities are fighting back... states' rights and all that jazz im just glad that someone's speaking truth to power and standing up for the people instead of just being a puppet for the president
I don’t usually comment but I think it’s pretty weird how this is all going down . Like, can’t we just talk things out instead of resorting to sending in the National Guard? The judge made some good points that most violence was between protesters and counter-protesters, which seems like a pretty small thing considering what's at stake . I get that some people are scared, but do we really need to be armed with rifles just to show up to a protest? It feels super intimidating . I'm curious to see how this all plays out on Friday and if the judge makes any final decisions .
I don't usually comment but I think it's kinda weird how this judge just sorta ruled in favor of the protesters lol the whole point was to protect the ICE building, which like, isn't exactly a safe space for people protesting . I mean, I get why they wanted to deploy troops, but it feels like a pretty big overreach on Trump's part... or at least, some of his administration is .
