I'm not sure about all this fuss over the Dindigul agreement
. I mean, it's good that more brands are starting to take notice of labor management agreements, but I don't think we should be celebrating just one factory signing a deal. What about all the other factories in India and abroad that are still exploiting workers? It seems like this is just a band-aid solution to a much bigger problem.
And yeah, I get why brands might be hesitant to sign collective bargaining agreements – it's not exactly going to make them popular with their shareholders
. But can't they see how bad it looks when companies prioritize profits over people? I'm all for companies doing the right thing, but we need more than just a few feel-good stories like this one.
