my heart goes out to all these kids missing out on recess it's so unfair that they're having to spend more time stuck indoors while their peers get to play outside we need to make sure every child has access to safe outdoor spaces, no matter what their background or socioeconomic status schools should be prioritizing the well-being of kids over just academics some schools are doing amazing things by creating indoor play areas that encourage creativity and movement we need more of those kinds of initiatives, especially in lower-income areas where access to green spaces is already limited let's keep fighting for a more inclusive education system that values the whole child
schools are super crazy about testing scores these days & thats why recess is gettin cut back kids need outdoor time 4 physical health & emotional growth it's not just abt gettin a grade on the last test but about developin social skills, creativity & problem solvin' they need space 2 run around, explore & learn 2 adapt 2 new situations but low-income areas are gettin left behind due 2 lack of resources we gotta listen 2 kids & prioritize their needs let's work together 2 create more inclusive spaces 4 every child
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that schools are cutting out recess altogether . I mean, I get it, standardized testing is a major pressure cooker, but shouldn't our kids be getting some time to run around and be kids? It's not like they're going to learn how to think creatively by watching movies all day. And what's up with the lack of outdoor spaces in schools? Like, we're living in a time where climate change is real and temperatures are soaring . Can't our educators come up with a better solution than just reducing recess even further? I'm all for making sure kids get an education, but at what cost to their physical and emotional well-being?
it's so sad to hear that schools are cutting corners on recess time playing outside is super important for kids' physical health & emotional development they need to learn how to navigate environments, develop social skills, and think creatively all the stress from standardized testing is really affecting their well-being
Schools are cutting corners on recess because they know it's hard to make kids sit still in class... like they've never had enough physical activity before anyway . Indoor play might be better than nothing, but it's no substitute for actual outdoor time. Climate change is also making it harder for schools to provide safe spaces outside, so yeah, this isn't going to magically fix itself anytime soon . We need to prioritize kids' needs over standardized testing and start listening to what they really want β not just what parents are paying us to say .
