Kimora Lee Simmons Describes Herself as 'Surrogate Mom' to Diddy's Four Kids
In a recent appearance on "Today with Jenna & Friends," fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons referred to herself as a "surrogate mom" to Sean "Diddy" Combs and the late Kim Porter's four children. The label reflects her role in caring for the late rapper's sons, Quincy Brown and King Combs, and twin daughters, D'Lila Combs and Jessie Combs.
Simmons, 50, expressed her devotion to the children, stating, "One of my friends who passed away, Kim Porter, I have all of her kids... Even though some of them are adults." The designer's words emphasize her commitment to providing a loving home for Diddy's children, whom she has been caring for since Porter's passing in 2018.
The music mogul is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted of transportation for prostitution earlier this year. He will be released in June 2028. Despite the challenges posed by his incarceration, Simmons ensures that the children are well-cared for, as she shared during her interview, "I just got off the phone with them."
As part of her caregiving duties, Simmons has built a support network, describing it as a "village of women." She also highlighted the importance of co-parenting, stating, "There's no co-parenting," when discussing her role in raising Diddy's children.
In addition to caring for Diddy's children, Simmons is herself a mother to five kids from previous relationships. Her journey as a single mom has been well-documented on social media and recently featured in her new series, "Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane," which premiered on E!
