Korean American Leaders In Hollywood Celebrates Filmmakers At Inaugural KALH Honors Ceremony

Korean American Leaders in Hollywood to Honor Trailblazing Filmmakers at Inaugural KALH Honors Ceremony

The prestigious organization, Korean American Leaders in Hollywood (KALH), is set to celebrate its inaugural ceremony honoring some of Korea's most innovative and groundbreaking filmmakers. On December 7, the event will take place in Los Angeles, bringing together leaders from the film industry, television, music, and philanthropy to recognize the transformative work of three talented individuals - Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung Hun, and Maggie Kang.

Park Chan-wook, a renowned director known for elevating Korean cinema globally, will be honored for his trailblazing achievements in showcasing the power of art without limits. His most recent film, "No Other Choice", won several awards at major festivals, cementing his reputation as one of the most acclaimed and influential directors worldwide.

Lee Byung Hun, a versatile actor with a long career in both Korea and Hollywood, will be recognized for his outstanding performance in "No Other Choice". With a string of notable films under his belt, including "Squid Game", "Mr. Sunshine", and "The Magnificent Seven", Lee has proven his versatility and global presence.

Maggie Kang, a break-out filmmaker who made waves with her debut animated feature "K-Pop Demon Hunters", will be honored for breaking records on the film side and with its soundtrack. This cultural phenomenon earned multiple Grammy Award nominations, including Best Song of the Year for its hit, "Golden".

The KALH Honors ceremony is presented by Korean skincare brand COSRX, and sponsored by Hasbro, Netflix, and Hello Soji. By bringing together industry leaders to celebrate Korean excellence in global cinema, KALH aims to empower and champion emerging talent and bridge the gap between Korea and the global market.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to recognize each of these phenomenal filmmakers with our inaugural KALH Honors award," said Kymber Lim, Founder and Executive Director of KALH. "Maggie Kang, Lee Byung Hun, and Park Chan-wook illuminate the power of art without limits and demonstrate the breadth, diversity, and richness of Korean storytelling."
