Lawyer sets new standard for abuse of AI; judge tosses case

Ugh, can you even imagine having your client's stolen goods and profits taken away from them all because some lawyer tried to get around doing their own research with AI? I mean, yes, using AI is fine, but it's not a excuse to not do your job right 🤦‍♂️. The fact that Feldman claimed the AI wasn't writing his filings but still got caught out for sure makes me wanna shake my head 😳. Judges are getting pretty strict about this stuff because AI can lead to some major mistakes. I get it, research is part of the job and we need to hold ourselves accountable 💡. Maybe this will be a wake-up call for lawyers to use these tools wisely 🙏.

omg i was worried when i saw that Feldman was using ai to draft court filings 🤯 it makes total sense why Judge Failla was like "redolent of Rube Goldberg" because if you leave something important to an algorithm, what's gonna happen? 🤖 u gotta personally verify stuff! and yeah, Feldman dodging the truth is not cool 😒 this ruling should be a reminder that just 'cause we got new tech doesn't mean we can slack off.

🤔 This whole thing got me thinking... what does it say about our reliance on tech to get by that we're now being held accountable for using it responsibly? It's like, we've traded one problem (slow research) for another (inaccurate citations). Can't we just slow down and think things through instead of relying on AI to do the work for us? 🤯 And what does this say about our relationship with truth? Feldman thought he could get away with using AI to cover his tracks, but the judge saw right through it. That's a pretty sobering reminder that we're still responsible for what we put out into the world. 💡
