Philly Brewery Offers Discounted Beer Based on Snowfall Amounts
As the city braces for a significant snowfall this weekend, Human Robot brewery is offering customers a unique deal to warm up with discounted beer. For every inch of snow that falls, the brewery will discount its TMAVY 1³° beer by $1. With predictions suggesting the Philly region could receive 12-18 inches of snow beginning Saturday night, the brewery is expected to sell its $8 beer for as low as 25 cents.
The promotion is designed to encourage people to venture out and visit one of Human Robot's five taprooms, despite the snowstorm. "It's a way to get people to come out when it snows, because typically people don't go out," said co-owner Jake Atkinson. "But if you can walk, it kind of brings a fun party to the whole snow situation."
TMAVY 1³° is a dark lager brewed with Czech Saaz hops, offering notes of aniseed and dark bread crust. The beer will be served on draft from a special side pull faucet for a precise pour and creamy foam. While this promotion is not uncommon for Human Robot, it's unusual to get enough snow for the beers to cost so little. According to Atkinson, Philly has only received enough snow for $1 beers once since Human Robot opened in 2020.
The promotion will be available at Human Robot's three city taprooms and two suburban locations, but customers are advised to use public transit or walk if they can safely do so. Philadelphia has declared a snow emergency, urging drivers to stay off the roads. As Atkinson puts it, "Just be safe, and let's have some fun."
