Lucas Havrisik Expected Be The Green Bay Packers’ Kicker Sunday

Green Bay Packers Kicker Drama Continues: Lucas Havrisik Steps Up

The Green Bay Packers' struggles at kicker continue as Brandon McManus is listed as doubtful due to a right quadriceps injury, leaving the team's latest signing, Lucas Havrisik, with the opportunity to prove himself. With 18 months of turmoil behind them, the Packers finally found stability last year when McManus arrived, but it seems that era has come to an end.

Havrisik was signed by Green Bay on October 11 and has made all 10 of his kicks when McManus missed games against Cincinnati and Arizona. However, he has been inactive for the past three weeks, with the team opting to keep both kickers on the roster. "Very unusual," Havrisik said of this approach.

When healthy, McManus has struggled, going just 4-of-8 on field goals and 5-of-5 on extra points since returning from injury. His overall performance has fallen short of expectations, with a conversion rate ranking last among kickers who have attempted the feat this season.

The Packers' special teams coach, Rich Bisaccia, acknowledged that McManus is still recovering from his injury and emphasized that the team needs to focus on getting him back to full health. "Last year, for whatever it is, is gone," he said. "Right now we're working through coming back all of an injury, which he hasn’t had for a long, long time."

With McManus out, Havrisik will likely take over the kicking duties against the New York Giants on Sunday. The rookie has spoken about approaching each week with an even-keel mindset, focusing solely on his next kick rather than dwelling on past performances.

As the Packers look to bounce back from another injury-plagued season at kicker, they are counting on Havrisik to provide some consistency. Can he step up and prove himself as a reliable option? Only time will tell.

OMG u guys, im so hyped for lucas havrisik!!! 🤩 he's been practicing nonstop and now its his turn 2 shine! i no mcvay is out injured but that dont mean lucas cant step up & show us wut he's got. hes only played like 10 games already n still managing 2 make all those kicks lol so calm nd focused 🙏 he needs 2 b like dat against the giants on sunday. fingers crossed for u lucas! 💪

🤔 I'm not sure about this signing of Lucas Havrisik... 18 months of turmoil with McManus and now they're expecting him to just come in and be stable? 🙃 The fact that he's been inactive for three weeks and the team is keeping both kickers on the roster makes me think there's more to it than just a simple injury recovery. What's the team's strategy here? And how can we trust Havrisik to perform when McManus is still recovering from his injury? 🤷‍♂️ We need some concrete data, not just "he's approaching each week with an even-keel mindset"... where's the source on that one? 😒

Ugh, gotta say, kicking in football is just not as cutthroat as I thought it was gonna be 🤔... like, Brandon McManus has been having some major issues with his legs and you're expecting the rookie to just step up? 18 months of drama behind him and now he's expected to save the day? 😬 Not impressed. Rich Bisaccia says they need to focus on getting McManus back healthy, but I think it's time for the team to consider making a change. Lucas Havrisik has shown some promise, but we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out... fingers crossed he doesn't embarrass himself 🤞

I'm kinda worried about this Lucas Havrisik kid... I mean, he's shown some promise but the team is keeping both McManus and him on the roster? That's just gonna confuse fans, you feel? Either one should be starting, not playing it safe like that 🤔. It's gotta be one or the other, you know? Can't have two kickers holding each other back... what if Havrisik gets nervous and starts missing kicks too? 😬

so the drama with McManus and Havrisik is getting crazy! I mean, it's one thing for McManus to miss games with an injury but now Havrisik's been inactive for 3 weeks and suddenly he gets the chance to shine 😅? I think its gonna be interesting to see how this plays out. The Packers did good in signing him last year but they gotta find consistency, 'cause one week you're up next week you're down 🤦‍♂️. What if Havrisik just can't handle the pressure tho? On the other hand, McManus is still recovering so Havrisik's got a legit shot at making this work 💪. Either way, it's time to put in the practice and get some results! Can't wait to see what happens on Sunday 📺

I gotta say, I'm kinda worried about this kicking situation in Green Bay 🤔. One minute you've got McManus back, the next he's out with an injury again and now it's all on Havrisik 😬. I mean, I guess they needed someone to step up, but 18 months of drama is a lot to handle ⏰. He's gotta prove himself for real this time and not just get lucky 🤞. I'm curious to see how he'll do against the Giants, especially since he's been inactive for a bit... did he even practice? 🤷‍♂️ Either way, Packers fans are hoping for some stability at kicker finally 💪
