Lure review – eligible bachelors dying for romance in Saw-style dating game

"Lure" Falls Flat in its Desperate Bid for Suspense

The premise of this low-budget horror film is an intriguing one: a seductive woman invites six eligible bachelors to her family's countryside estate for a weekend of romance, only to trap them in a twisted game of survival. The idea has all the makings of a thrilling and suspenseful experience, reminiscent of the clever manipulation games seen in "The Bachelorette" series. However, the film fails to deliver on its promise, succumbing to implausible moments that feel like something from a low-budget student production.

As the credits roll, it's clear that the filmmakers struggled to achieve a seamless fusion of horror and suspense, instead settling for an inconsistent tone that veers wildly between folk horror and torture porn. The film's identity crisis is palpable, making it difficult to become invested in the characters' plight. Even the most intriguing individual moments feel disconnected from the rest of the narrative, leaving viewers watching passively rather than becoming fully immersed.

The production design suffers from a similar lack of cohesion. Rather than embracing a distinct aesthetic, "Lure" seems to borrow elements from different genres without conviction. The film's reliance on flimsy restraints and contrived gags detracts from the tension, rendering it almost laughable at times. With more attention paid to staging and plot coherence, this could have been a genuinely unsettling experience – instead, it feels like a weak imitation of its horror inspirations.

Ultimately, "Lure" serves as a cautionary tale for filmmakers who attempt to juggle too many genres or tones at once. Despite its intriguing premise, the film's execution falls short, making it a forgettable addition to the horror genre.

I just watched that movie and I was really hoping it would be good 🤔... but honestly, the main girl seems kinda creepy? Like, I get she's supposed to be seductive and all, but there were moments where I was like "dude, calm down" 😂. And don't even get me started on how they trapped those guys - it just didn't feel very realistic 🤦‍♂️... or scary for that matter 😅. I mean, I liked the idea of it being a game and all, but it just felt like one of those movies where the bad guy is just kinda... there 🙃.

I was super excited about this one thinking its gonna be like that show "The Bachelorette" but nope, it was all meh 🤔🎬. I mean, who doesnt love a good game of cat and mouse? But the way they pulled it off was so whack 💁‍♀️. The plot just didnt make sense at times. And omg, that design on the film looked straight outta some bad student flick 🤪. Less is more, right? Don't overdo it or its just gonna be a mess 😒

just watched lure and i'm still trying to process how they went from promising premise to complete mess 🤯 the whole thing felt like it was missing a clear direction 📍 it's like they took all these different ideas and threw them into a blender without hitting puree 👍 unfortunately, that makes for a really disappointing viewing experience 😔

I mean, I was expecting so much more from this one 🤔... The whole "bachelors trapped in a twisted game" thing had me intrigued, but it just didn't deliver 😐. I think the problem is that they tried to blend too many genres and it ended up feeling all over the place 🔥. It's like they were trying to fit in every horror trope without really committing to any of them. And don't even get me started on the production design - it was like they threw a bunch of different styles together and hoped for the best 🎨. Overall, I'd say it's just a forgettable horror flick that could've been something special with a bit more focus 🔍.

i don't know what happened here, but lure just feels like it was trying way too hard to be edgy and suspenseful 🤯. the whole setup is cool i guess, but then you get these cringeworthy moments where you're like "wait, why did she do that?" 😂 and the rest of the film is just kinda meh. production design is also super lacking - it feels like they took bits and bobs from different horror movies and mashed them together without any thought to how they'd actually work together 🤦‍♀️. overall, it's a shame because i think there were some interesting ideas floating around in here somewhere 💡, but it just needed more focus and less trying too hard 🎬

OMG u guys I just watched Lure and I gotta say its such a letdown 🤦‍♀️!! The idea sounds super interesting but honestly its like they took all this awesome stuff from other shows & movies & mashed them together without even trying to make it work 🔄💔. Its not suspenseful, its just confusing & sometimes straight up painful 😩👀. I get that horror is supposed to be scary but come on, these moments are just cringeworthy 🤣. The production design is meh too... idk what they were going for but it just feels like a mess 🚮. Anyways if u want some real thrill then keep looking 👍

seen this movie 🤯 and honestly, i think they tried too hard to make it spooky 😳 the whole thing felt like a mess, like they took bits from different movies and just mashed them together without any real thought or care about how it'd all come together 🎥

I saw this movie with my friends last week and I gotta say, I was so underwhelmed 😐. The whole concept of getting trapped in some creepy game sounds super appealing, but honestly, it just didn't deliver 🎬. The tone is all over the place - one minute you're like "oh no, they're gonna get tortured" and the next you're just like "wait, what's going on with this weird folk horror vibe?" 🤯. And don't even get me started on the production design, it's like they threw a bunch of different things against the wall and hoped something stuck 🎨. I mean, if they had put more effort into making it cohesive, maybe we would've been on the edge of our seats, but nope... it just felt like another lazy horror flick 🙄.

OMG u guys i just watched this low budget horror movie "Lure" and i am SHOOK 😱 like the premise is soooo cool but honestly the whole thing feels like a hot mess 🤯 the plot is all over the place like they took bits from different movies and mashed them together with no care for consistency. and don't even get me started on the production design it looks straight out of some low budget student film 📺🎥 i mean what's up with the weird gags and the super unrealistic situations? it feels like they were trying to be all dark and artsy but really ended up being cringeworthy instead. idk man maybe i just got my hopes up too high or something because this movie had the potential to be so much more than it was.

I just watched this movie and I'm kinda disappointed 🤔. I mean, the idea of these guys being trapped in this creepy mansion sounds like a great setup for some serious suspenseful moments 😬. But honestly, it felt like they took all the wrong elements from different movies and just mashed them together without thinking about how it would actually work 🤯.

And don't even get me started on the special effects... I mean, come on, restraints that are basically impossible to break through? 🚫 Give me a break! And the "twists" they tried to throw in were super predictable. It felt like I saw them coming a mile away 👀.

I think what really hurt this movie was that it couldn't decide what kind of tone it wanted to have. Like, one minute it's supposed to be spooky and creepy, next minute it's just torture porn. It was hard to get invested in the story because nothing felt consistent 🙅‍♂️.

I JUST WENT AND WATCHED THIS MOVIE AND I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT 🤦‍♀️ THE IDEA OF A TWISTY GAME SHOW SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN BUT IT ENDED UP BEING SO CHEESY AND UNBELIEVABLE 😂 THE SUSPENSE JUST DIDNT WORK FOR ME IT FELT LIKE I WAS WATCHING A TRAINWRECK 🚨 I DONT GET WHY THE FILMMAKERS CHOSE TO GO SO WRONG WITH THE TONE IT WENT FROM SPORNY TO GORY AND BACK AGAIN WITHOUT ANY CONSISTENCY 😒

omg I was so hyped for this movie but now that I've seen it I'm just disappointed 🤦‍♀️ it had all the ingredients for a thrilling ride but the filmmakers totally botched it. The plot is super confusing and the characters are just annoying to watch. And don't even get me started on the production design - it's like they raided every horror movie trope and threw them together without thinking about how it would affect the overall tone 😒 I mean, who thought flimsy restraints were a good idea? 🤣 it's like they want us to laugh at the movie instead of being scared. I was really looking forward to this but now I'll just stick to watching Netflix originals 📺

I watched this movie and I'm still trying to wrap my head around it 🤯🎥 like, I get that they wanted to do something different but honestly, it just didn't work for me 😐. The special effects were kinda cheesy and the plot twists felt so predictable 🙄. And don't even get me started on the "twisted game of survival" thing, it was just so overdone 🤯. I mean, if you're gonna try to be suspenseful, at least put in some effort, right? 💁‍♀️

I don't get why they thought adding more horror elements would make it better 😒. Like, I know folk horror is creepy but torture porn just feels gross and off-putting. And don't even get me started on those flimsy restraints... who uses stuff like that in real life? 🙄 The film's all over the place, tone-wise, and it shows. If they had stuck to one vibe, it might've worked but nope, they went ahead and mashed everything together into this weird mess 🤯

I'm so underwhelmed by this one 🤦‍♂️. I mean, I get what they're trying to do - create some creepy suspenseful vibes with the whole "bachelors trapped in a twisted game" thing. But honestly, it just feels like they phoned it in. Like, where's the tension? Where's the real scares? It just ends up being this mess of folk horror and torture porn that can't decide what it wants to be 🤪.

And don't even get me started on the production design - it's all over the place. They're trying to be like The Shining or something, but it comes across as super cheap and lazy 🤑. I mean, I've seen better-made horror flicks in college student productions 💁‍♀️.

For a film with such an intriguing premise, it just ends up feeling like a waste of time. They could've done some real damage if they'd just stuck to one tone and executed it well. But nope, they went ahead and messed it up 😐. Not worth your time or money, imo 👎

I just watched this movie "Lure" and I gotta say it was such a letdown 🤦‍♀️🎃 The idea is super cool but they messed up the execution so much 😒 They tried to be all fancy with the suspense and horror but ended up being super cheesy instead 🧐 Like, what's up with all the random gags? Can't you just focus on making it spooky for once? 🙄 And don't even get me started on the plot holes...

Here's a quick diagram of what happened:
```
+---------------+
| Premise |
+---------------+
|
|
v
+---------------+---------------+
| (confused) | (trying too hard)
| tone | gags
+---------------+---------------+
|
|
v
+---------------+---------------+
| (not scary at all)|
| plot holes |
+---------------+---------------+
```
Anyway, if you want to make a horror movie that's actually good, just keep it simple and focus on the story 🤓

idk what's wrong with low-budget films anymore 🤷‍♀️ they just can't get it right lol the whole thing just feels like they threw a bunch of genres at the wall and hoped something stuck 📺 i mean come on, who needs all that unnecessary gore and torture porn? a good scare should be enough, not some awkward folk horror nonsense 😅

I was really hyped about this one 🤔 but honestly, it felt like they were trying way too hard 😂. I mean, who comes up with this idea? It sounds like something from a trashy TV show 📺, not a high-budget horror flick. The whole thing just didn't add up for me...the suspense was so forced and the plot twists were super predictable 🙄. And don't even get me started on the production design - it looked like they threw a bunch of different styles together without any cohesion 🤯. It's like, I get that you wanna push boundaries, but come on guys...just pick one vibe and run with it 😂. Anyways, it's just another forgettable horror movie in my book 👎

omg, i just watched this movie Lure and i gotta say, its concept was actually pretty cool 🤔 but like, they really dropped the ball on execution 😐 the suspense was so lacking, it felt like they were trying too hard to be all edgy & stuff. i mean, come on, who uses zip ties as a restraint? 🚫 thats just ridiculous! and dont even get me started on the production design, its like they threw a bunch of random horror tropes together without any thought or care 🤦‍♀️. overall, i would say this movie is a total skippable watch 👎
