I'm not surprised they're trying to sign him, but what's with the short-term loan deal? Like, what's the point of even having a transfer window if you just borrow someone for 6 months and then lose them when it expires 
. And £2m is a pretty penny for a centre-back who's only on loan... I guess they think he's worth it since he's been impressing at Sunderland, but I still think Liverpool are making a mistake by not signing him outright. It's just gonna end in tears and another overpaid player getting sold down the line
