Magic wears off in ‘Wicked: For Good’ - Detroit Metro Times

yeah i was really hyped for this movie but its like they took all the magic away 🤔. i feel like they tried too hard to make it edgy and dark but ended up just making it confusing 🤷‍♀️. i love cynthia erivo she's literally amazing in every role she plays, but elphaba's character development was so lacking 😐. and the song part? no thanks 🎵. sets are pretty cool though 👍

Ugh 🤕 I just saw Wicked: For Good and I'm like "what happened to the magic?" 😔 The love triangle was so weird and felt forced... I mean, I loved Cynthia Erivo in The Bodyguard back in '97 💃🏽 but Elphaba's character here is just meh 🤷‍♀️. And don't even get me started on Ariana Grande's singing - I'm all for her but her voice just doesn't belong in this movie 🎤. Anyway, I guess the sets were pretty cool and all 👀, but overall it was just a letdown 🤦‍♀️. Can we just go back to Phantom of the Opera now? 💔

I'm so bummed to hear Wicked 2 didn't quite hit the mark for me 🤕 I was really looking forward to seeing more of Elphaba's journey and how her story would be explored in the sequel, but it sounds like that just wasn't done justice. The love triangle does sound kinda forced and rushed, and I hate when that happens because it disrupts the flow of the story. And yeah, I loved the sets and design - they always bring a whole new level of magic to the screen ✨ But overall, it seems like they missed the mark on making this sequel as good as the first one 👎

I'm so underwhelmed by this movie 🤔. I mean, I love the original Wicked, but this sequel just didn't do it for me. They tried to mix in all these dark themes and I was like "okay, cool" but then they'd just kinda drop it without any real payoff. And don't even get me started on the love triangle – it felt so rushed and like they were trying to fit too many songs into one movie 🎶. The sets were nice tho! 💡 Maybe if they'd focused more on developing the characters, this could've been a winner...

Ugh 🤯 I was really looking forward to this movie but it's like they took all the magic out of Wicked and replaced it with...nothing 😐 The sets are fire, I'll give them that 👀, but it's not enough to save this mess from itself. And don't even get me started on the characters - I mean, what happened to Elphaba? She was the heart and soul of the first movie and now she's just another love interest 🤷‍♀️. The themes are so simplistic and heavy-handed it feels like they're trying too hard to be profound 💔. I'm sad because Wicked is such a great story but this sequel is just a waste of time ⏰.
