'Making mental health crisis worse': Young Nationals warn regional children will be cut off from family by social media ban

Meh, sounds like a total mess 🤯. They're worried about cyberbullying and mental health issues, but they wanna regulate this like it's easy peasy 🙄. What's next? Banning video games for under-16s? 😂 I mean, come on, what's the harm in having some online freedom? It's not like all social media is bad news... kids need to learn how to navigate the web, like a normal human being 💻. And btw, have you tried to get some actual age verification tech that works? 🤦‍♂️ It's like they're making it up as they go along 😅. Parents just wanna protect their kiddos, but this law is too broad and will end up hurting more than helping 👎.

I feel bad for the young folks in rural Australia who are gonna be cut off from their families if this ban goes ahead 🤕. I get why the gov wants to protect them from online harm, but this isn't gonna make a difference - it'll just push 'em into the dark web where they're more likely to get bullied and stuff 😟. What they should do is implement a proper classification system like they do for movies and TV shows, so parents can actually control what their kids are doing online 📺. It's not that hard, right? 😊

I'm like, totally against a social media ban for under-16s... no wait, I just changed my mind 🤯! Actually, I think it's kinda cool that some politicians are questioning the effectiveness of the law... yeah, but I still don't think parents should be allowed to control their kids' online activity that much... 🤷‍♀️. On the other hand, a classification system like for movies and TV shows sounds like a good idea... unless it just becomes another way for companies to make more money off our fears about cyberbullying... 😒. And honestly, I think the whole thing is kinda a bit of a free-for-all – we should just let kids figure out how to use social media responsibly on their own... or do we? 🤔.
