A 64-year-old man's lifeless body was discovered on the ground outside an apartment building in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood early Thursday morning, with authorities confirming that he had been brutally beaten to death. Responding officers found the victim lying motionless on the sidewalk at around 1:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Madison Street. The extent of his injuries was severe enough to prompt an immediate call for emergency services.
