A 41-year-old man lost his life early Thursday morning in a violent confrontation that unfolded behind closed doors of a Morgan Park home. Police say he had a heated argument with a woman at their residence on West 111th Place around 2 a.m., which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
The female, reportedly enraged, pulled out a firearm and fired a shot, striking the man in the chest. The victim was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was later pronounced dead despite medical efforts.
A gun was recovered from the scene of the crime, but authorities have yet to make an arrest, leaving many unanswered questions about this tragic incident.

the fact that there was a firearm involved makes me nervous, hope the police find out who's responsible ASAP 
this whole thing just feels so senseless
Can't believe what's happening to our society... guns are just too easily accessible

. And now the police are left with no leads, just a gun and a story that nobody wants to talk about 
. It's like we're living in a movie where anyone can become a shooter and innocent people get caught in the crossfire 
. We need some serious change, like stricter gun laws or something... I don't know what else to say

you'd think that a heated argument would've cooled down by now, but I guess not in this case sadly. the fact that someone pulled out a gun and fired is just devastating

it's always a shame when things like this happen, especially in our own communities 
it's crazy how fast things escalate. like what was the girl thinkin ?? did she not see where this was headed ?? anyway, can we pls get to the bottom of this case already ? there are so many questions still unanswered, who else was involved ?, was there a motive ?, why didnt she pull the trigger before 2am ? so many things left unexplained 
. i mean, can u believe a fight turned into a shoot out over some girl? and now there's no one to hold anyone accountable? 
i dont think taking matters into ur own hands is ever a good idea 
even if u feel like the situation is escalating, there r always better ways 2 resolve conflicts without resorting 2 violence

And a firearm being pulled out? That's just crazy talk. I don't get why more people aren't talking about the fact that no one's been arrested yet. It's like, where did that gun come from in the first place? Was it a legit self-defense thing or what? The police are supposed to be able to piece this together but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how they unravel the whole mess
