Man Utd 'complacency' in Everton defeat will erode trust in Ruben Amorim, says Gary Neville

Gary Neville has blasted Manchester United's 1-0 defeat to Everton, describing their performance as "an embarrassment at times" and saying it will erode trust in Ruben Amorim's team. The former Man Utd full-back was critical of Amorim when he brought on Diogo Dalot for the struggling Patrick Dorgu and slammed Luke Shaw's effort.

Gary Neville said United were nowhere near good enough against 10-man Everton, who dominated them with their fight and spirit. He also questioned Amorim's in-game decisions, saying bringing Dalot on over Shaw was baffling and that Shaw should have been running forward every single time.

Neville believes the defeat will raise serious questions about Amorim's role as manager, particularly his failure to adapt his approach after Everton had a player sent off. The pundit said United were lucky not to lose by more than one goal and that their performance was "one of those moments where I think a lot of people will really question the manager on the back of that defeat."

The former Man Utd defender also called out Shaw for his ambling effort, saying he should have been running forward every single time. Neville believes United need to get rid of that mentality and start playing with urgency and intensity.

For Amorim, Neville said it was a bad night and that the manager will take a lot of blame for the defeat. The pundit also questioned why United still didn't win the first or second ball, despite having five at the back.

Ugh πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, what's going on with Manchester United?! 😩 They get absolutely thrashed by Everton and Gary Neville is like "where's the fire?" πŸ”₯ I mean, 10-man team can't be expected to hold their own for that long, but come on, can't you just try to win? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Those in-game decisions from Amorim are just mind-boggling... bringing Dalot on over Shaw was like throwing a puzzle together with the wrong pieces. And what's with Shaw not even making an effort to get forward? πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Like, come on, Luke! You're better than that. πŸ˜’ The Red Devils need to shake off this mentality and start playing some real football πŸ’ͺ

I'm not sure I agree with Gary Neville's harsh assessment on Ruben Amorim 😐. I mean, it's one game and you can't just write off a manager like that. The lad's got to be given some time to figure things out πŸ€”. And yeah, Diogo Dalot coming on over Shaw was a weird sub decision, but that's not entirely on Amorim - Luke Shaw's performance was pretty poor too πŸ˜’. It's one of those games where you can say 'what ifs' and second-guess everyone's decisions πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I'm all for questioning the manager, but let's see how they respond to this defeat before we start calling for his head πŸ‘Š

πŸ˜• just watched this game and i gotta say, its not a pretty sight for man u... they got dominated by everton with 10 men, that's just embarrassing πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ gary neville saying it now will erode trust in ruben amorim's team, and he should know what hes talking about... that guy was always so critical on the pitch when he played.shaw's effort was non existent, he should've been running forward every single time, not just meandering around like he did πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.united need to shake off this mentality of playing with urgency and intensity, its getting old πŸ‘Ž

I'm telling you, something's fishy with this one... Gary Neville is always so quick to point fingers at the manager, but what about his own opinion? He's just slamming Amorim left and right, like he's got some inside info πŸ€”... And what's up with bringing on Dalot over Shaw? That was a weird move, if you ask me πŸ˜’. It's like they wanted to lose that badly. I mean, I've seen more urgency in a Sunday league game 🏟️... United needs to get their act together and start playing for the win, not just surviving πŸ’ͺ...

omg this is soooo bad πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ like what happened to man u? they got destroyed by everton 10 men and all and gary neville is right we need to see some changes in the team ASAP ⏱️ they can't just keep relying on defending and expecting to win. it's time for them to be more proactive and aggressive in their approach, like running forward with the ball instead of just ambling around 🚫 and gary neville is totally right about ruben amorim's in-game decisions, that was a weird move bringing dalot on over shaw πŸ€”

OMG, I FEEL LIKE GARY NEVILLE RIGHT NOW!!! MAN UTD JUST GOT BEATEN BY EVERTON AND IT'S TIME FOR SOME SERIOUS CHANGE!!! Ruben Amorim needs to step up his game and stop making those silly in-game decisions! BRINGING ON DALOT OVER SHAW WAS PURE MADNESS AND SHAW NEEDS TO SHAPE UP, RUN LIKE HIS LIFE DEPENDS ON IT EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

I THINK THE DEFENSE WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE, TOO - THEY JUST WEREN'T WINNING THE FIRST AND SECOND BALLS LIKE THEY SHOULD BE WITH FIVE DEFENDERS BACK!!! AND EVERTON'S SPIRIT WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN UNITED'S... I MEAN, IT'S NOT LIKE MAN UTD ISN'T A BIG CLUB OR ANYTHING, BUT COME ON!!!

AMORIM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ONE AND GET THE TEAM GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. WE CAN'T KEEP SEEING DEFEATS LIKE THIS AND EXPECT TO WIN TITLES!!!

πŸ€” think gary's right on point tho... united gotta shake off this mentality where they just kinda exist in games rthn actually competing & hustlin 4 every ball πŸ’ͺ if they dont wanna be stuck in mediocrity again 🚫

idk how much longer ruben amorim can last in that job πŸ˜‚ he's gotta shake things up big time if united want to get out of this mess. bringing diogo dalot on over shaw was a total head-scratcher, and that attitude from shaw is just not gonna cut it anymore πŸ™„ they need to start winning some battles and taking risks in attack, not just playing for the draw all the time. and btw, 10 men should be easy pickings for united but nope, they managed to lose 😳

idk what's going on with Man U right now πŸ€”... they're just not putting in the performances I expect from them, you know? like, Gary Neville's gotta be feeling the heat already and that 1-0 loss to Everton is just another nail in the coffin for Ruben Amorim 🚫. it's like they're just going through the motions, waiting for someone else to pick up the slack... and that spirit of fight from Everton was exactly what Man U needed - a wake-up call! πŸ˜…

ugh this is getting old... 1-0 loss to Everton πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ? really? they were literally nowhere near good enough and it's not like Everton was playing with 11 men lol. Gary Neville's always been harsh but come on, ambling effort from Shaw shouldn't get called out in a bad game. that being said, Ruben Amorim needs to step up his game ASAP πŸ‘Š

Can you believe this? 🀯 Like seriously, what's going on with Manchester United right now? Gary Neville is absolutely right, their performance was an embarrassment and it's only gonna erode trust in Ruben Amorim even further... 10-man Everton still managed to give them a run for their money πŸ™„. And what's with all the in-game decisions? Bringing Diogo Dalot on instead of Shaw is just baffling, like what's the thought process here?! Shaw should've been running up and down that pitch every single time, not just chillin' 😴. And can we talk about how United didn't even win the first or second ball with all those defenders? Like, five at the back? It's a joke 🀣. I'm starting to think they need a complete overhaul of their team and tactics...

πŸ€” this is getting old, can't believe they're still struggling like that, i mean Everton are 10-man and they dominate them? what's going on with united's mentality, it's like they're not even trying anymore πŸ™„, and don't even get me started onshaw, he was ambling down the pitch like he wasn't even trying, where's the urgency? where's the intensity? ⏱️

i'm starting to think that amorim needs a shake up, maybe someone with some experience comes in and takes over, i mean neville's been saying it all season, something's got to change πŸ”„, but at the same time, you can't blame them for not winning when they're getting dominated like that, 10-man or not, it's still a defeat ⚽️

i'm just waiting for united to figure out their issues before they make things worse, i mean we've seen this movie before, teams get stuck in neutral and then suddenly they turn it around πŸ“ˆ, but until then, i'll be sitting here watching them struggle 😐

πŸ˜” I feel so bad for Gary Neville... he's just being super honest about Manchester United's performance πŸ€•. It's like, you can tell he's coming from a place of love and concern for the team πŸ€—. The way he was tearing it up on live TV, calling out some tough decisions by Ruben Amorim... it's not easy to do that kind of thing πŸ’”. But at the same time, I get why he's saying those things - United had a pretty rough night out ⚽️. It's like, you can't just ignore the fact that they got beat 1-0 and that Amorim made some questionable calls πŸ€”. Maybe this is an opportunity for them to take a hard look at themselves and make some changes πŸ”„.

OMG 🀯 Gary Neville is speaking truth! I think Ruben Amorim's tactics were super questionable last night πŸ˜’ like bringing on Diogo Dalot for Patrick Dorgu when he was already struggling πŸ€” and what's up with Luke Shaw's aimless effort? πŸ™„ The fact that they got dominated by 10-man Everton is just embarrassing 😳 I mean, you'd think they'd be more focused after a player gets sent off but nope! 🚫 United need to work on their mentality ASAP ⏱️ and for real, who gives the ball away like Shaw did? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ It's gonna be a tough night for Amorim and his team πŸ‘Š

I'm so frustrated with Man Utd's performance 🀯! Gary Neville is spot on about their lack of urgency and spirit. They were getting bullied by Everton and it's not like they had anything going for them. I mean, come on, Luke Shaw just stood there like a statue 😴. It's not that hard to run forward when you're outnumbered. And what was with Diogo Dalot coming on? It was like Neville himself said, completely baffling. Ruben Amorim needs to shake things up and get rid of that laid-back mentality. And why didn't they just win the first or second ball? It's basic football skills πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Seriously though, it's not all on Amorim... but he does need to take some heat for this one 😳.

omg i'm so frustrated with man u right now 🀯 they're supposed to be one of the top teams in england but honestly they looked like a bunch of mugs out there πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ gary neville said it all, their performance was an embarrassment at times and that's coming from someone who used to play for them! πŸ”₯ ruben amorim needs to take a hard look at himself and figure out what's going on. why did he bring on dalot over shaw when everton was only down to 10 men? it just doesn't add up πŸ€” i think the real issue here is that man u has lost their urgency and intensity on the pitch. they need to get rid of that mentality and start playing with passion again πŸ’ͺ

I gotta say I'm kinda with Gary on this one πŸ€”. Like, come on, 10-man Everton and they get beat by a goal? That's harsh but true πŸ’ͺ. Amorim needs to take responsibility for some of those in-game decisions, espically that sub with Dalot over Shaw πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Shaw was all over the place out there, it's like he lost his legs or something πŸ˜…. But seriously, Neville's got a point, they need to get that mentality together and start playing with some urgency. I mean, you can't just be happy with getting one goal when you're supposed to be dominating a 10-man team πŸ™„. It's time for Amorim to make some changes and bring in some new blood, or at least shake things up a bit ⚠️.

man, amorim's in-game decisions are def fishin' 🐟... bringin diogo dalot on over shaw was a huge mistake, and it's not like everton had a 10-man team, they were still fightin' hard πŸ’ͺ. u can't just sit back and wait for the other team to make mistakes, that's not football πŸ€. united need to start showin' some urgency, intensity... be like everton on the pitch πŸ”₯

I feel for Ruben Amorim, he's under so much pressure and scrutiny from everyone πŸ€•. Gary Neville is harsh but fair, I think he's right to question his decisions, like bringing on Dalot instead of Shaw. That was a weird call, it didn't make sense at all. And yeah, United were woefully poor in terms of winning the ball back, that's a massive problem for them right now πŸ’”. But you can't put all the blame on Amorim, they were 10-man against Everton and still managed to dominate possession. Maybe they just need to tweak their approach and get Shaw running more? I think Neville is right to say it's an embarrassment, but maybe we're being too quick to judge the manager πŸ€”.
