Manchester United: Michael Carrick to bring in Steve Holland on staff

Manchester United's new interim head coach Michael Carrick is set to be joined by former England assistant manager Steve Holland as his number two. The 44-year-old had a three-game stint as the club's temporary boss after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021, but this time will be in charge of both on and off the pitch. Carrick has agreed to become interim head coach after Ruben Amorim was sacked by United in January.

A key appointment for the club is Steve Holland as Michael Carrick's assistant manager. The 55-year-old had a successful spell at Chelsea, where he worked under several top managers. He will be expected to provide a cool head and knowledge of operating in a high-pressure environment.

Former Middlesbrough boss Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans, the current United defender, have also been named part of Carrick's coaching staff. The 55-year-old has experience working with players like Wilfie Owen at Bournemouth.

The new team will take on Manchester City at Old Trafford this weekend in a Premier League derby.

๐Ÿค” So they're making Michael Carrick the interim head coach now? That's kinda interesting, 'cause he was only there for three games last time around. I wonder what made them think he's the right fit this time? And Steve Holland as his assistant manager is a good choice, 'cause he's got experience working with top managers and stuff ๐Ÿค

I'm also wondering if Jonny Evans being part of the coaching staff is gonna affect his gameplay on the pitch. Like, will he be more focused or distracted now that he's helping out the gaffer? And what about Jonathan Woodgate, is he gonna bring some Middlesbrough magic to the team? ๐Ÿค“

But anyway, it's gonna be a tough match against Manchester City this weekend. I'm rooting for United, but I know they've got their work cut out for them ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Time will tell if Carrick and his crew can get things sorted out and bring some wins in ๐Ÿ’ช

I donโ€™t usually comment but... I think itโ€™s interesting how Manchester United is giving Michael Carrick a bigger role, he was pretty good as the temporary boss last time around ๐Ÿค”. Having Steve Holland by his side will be a big help, especially with all the high-profile games coming up. The fact that Jonny Evans and Jonathan Woodgate are part of the coaching staff is also a positive sign, might bring some fresh ideas to the table ๐Ÿ’ก. Itโ€™s not ideal timing for them, taking on Manchester City this weekend in the derby, but I guess it'll be an interesting test for Carrick's new team ๐Ÿˆ.

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I just saw the cutest video of a cat playing the piano online yesterday... it's so soothing! I was thinking, if cats could coach football teams, they'd totally be more relaxed and focused under pressure ๐Ÿ˜ธ. Maybe we should get a feline manager for United? ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ Anyway, back to Manchester United... I love Jonny Evans, he's such a nice guy on Twitter ๐Ÿพ. Is it true that the stadium is going to be renamed again? I thought they said that was going to happen last season ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Sounds like they're setting up for a good chance to make an impact under the new setup, especially with Steve Holland coming on board ๐Ÿค”. I mean, 55 and still managing like pros? Gotsta respect! Carrick's got some big shoes to fill, but if anyone can do it, he has the experience from his stint in 2021, plus all that UEFA stuff under Ferguson ๐Ÿ˜Ž. And having Jonny Evans on board as a defender is a good move, might give them an edge against City ๐Ÿ†. Fingers crossed for a win this weekend! โšฝ๏ธ

omg i'm so hyped for man u lol they finally got a new interim coach and its gonna be interesting to see how carrick does!!! ๐Ÿค” i was there when he took over in 2021 and it was like a whole different team on the pitch he brought back some of that solskjaer magic but also had his own style ๐Ÿ† as for holland he's got skills man he worked under abelen at chelsea and knows what makes top managers tick lets see if they can bring in that same success ๐Ÿ”

๐Ÿค” sounds like they're trying to get things back on track, but have they thought about what's really going on behind the scenes? Like, how's Carrick gonna handle all that media scrutiny? And Holland seems nice and all, but can he keep the squad motivated? ๐Ÿ† Also, Evans being part of the coaching staff is interesting, I guess it's a good thing they're trying to involve the players in the decision-making process. Can't wait for the derby on the weekend though, that's always gonna be intense ๐Ÿ’ฅ

omg i'm so excited for man utd ๐Ÿคฉ, michael carrick is a legend and i think he's gonna do a great job ๐Ÿ˜Š. having steve holland as his no1 assistant is also a big plus, he seems like a super experienced guy who knows how to handle the pressure โš ๏ธ. plus, jonny evans on the coaching staff? genius ๐Ÿค“. i hope man utd can take down man city this weekend ๐Ÿ†, it's gonna be an epic derby ๐Ÿ”ฅ. fingers crossed for carrick and the lads ๐Ÿ‘!

๐Ÿค” so its good news for man united that carrick is back but u gotta wonder if they've thought through the long term plan now... 44 yrs old is pretty young to be interim head coach, cant help but think about all the experience they're gonna miss out on ๐Ÿ™ƒ carrick's got a tough job ahead of him, derby match against man city this wknd will set the tone for the season ๐Ÿ’ช lets see how steve holland holds up as his right hand man ๐Ÿ‘Š

man i'm not sure about michael carrick as interim head coach... he did alright the first time around but wasnt exactly firing on all cylinders ๐Ÿค”. and hiring steve holland as his no 2 is good but im worried about how he'll handle the pressure on match days ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. plus jonny evans as a coach seems a bit random to me ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. cant wait for this weekend's derby tho, gonna be a wild one! โšฝ๏ธ

im so hyped about man uniteds new coach michael carrick tho ๐Ÿคฉ i mean, the guy's got some serious skills on the pitch and now he's gonna bring that same expertise to the coaching side of things ๐Ÿ’ก steve holland as his right hand man is a sick pick btw ๐Ÿค cant wait for this weekend's derby against man city at old Trafford ๐Ÿ†

I'm intrigued by Michael Carrick's ascension to the interim head coach position, and having Steve Holland as his right-hand man is a strategic move ๐Ÿค”. The addition of Jonathan Woodgate and Jonny Evans to the coaching staff provides a interesting dynamic, especially with Woodgate's experience in managing at Middlesbrough and Evans' tenure as United defender ๐Ÿ‘Š. However, I wonder how this new setup will translate to game-day decisions, particularly under high-pressure situations ๐Ÿ’ช. Manchester City away at Old Trafford is always a challenging fixture for any team, so it'll be interesting to see how Carrick's team handles the task ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ.
