I was just thinking, like, what's up with these old power plants? They're supposed to be safe but they can still catch fire like that

. I mean, I know they're decommissioned and all but you'd think there'd be some precautions in place to prevent fires like this from happening. It's just crazy thinking about the people who live nearby and had to deal with that smoke alert

.
And I'm not sure why it took so long for firefighters to get there, either. Like, shouldn't they have known about the power plant being decommissioned?

Maybe they should've been expecting something like this to happen? It's just one of those things that makes you go "wow, that was close"

.
I'm glad no one got hurt, but it's still super concerning. Like, what were they thinking when the fire started? Were there any safety measures in place?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the investigation turns up
