Measles cases surge in South Carolina as U.S. risks losing elimination status

I'm worried about the measles outbreak in South Carolina 🤕, but I still think there's a silver lining here. We can use this as an opportunity to remind everyone how important vaccines are 💉! 93% effective is still pretty amazing 🙌. Plus, it's not just about protecting ourselves, but also our communities and the people around us 👫. Let's all take responsibility for getting vaccinated and spreading awareness about measles prevention 🎯. It's time to get educated and proactive about public health 💡.

omg u guys can't even 🤦‍♀️! Measles outbreak spreadin across SC and its like WHOA, US on the brink of losin elim status 🚨 646 cases since Oct and it's gettin crazy fast! i mean, who needs measles when u got publix and schools to infect 😂. seriously tho, vaccinate already ppl! one dose is 93% effective so why r we still see outbreaks? gotta keep pushin for public health measures 🤝. if not, measles gonna be like everyday news 😳

omg this is so worrying 🤕 measles is super contagious and can be deadly 😨 i remember when i was a kid my mom got measles and it was really bad she had to stay in hospital for like a week 💉 anyway the fact that there are 646 cases in sc since october is crazy 🤯 and with more expected to be released soon we might lose our elimination status 🚫 which would be super scary for public health 😬 gotta get vaccinated and take public health guidelines seriously 🙏

🤦‍♂️ I'm not surprised to see South Carolina on the front page with a measles outbreak. It's been clear for years that vaccination rates have been declining and now the consequences are being felt. I mean, come on, 93% effective against measles is still not enough if people aren't getting their doses. And don't even get me started on how easily this disease spreads 🤢. We're talking about a disease that can cause hospitalization and death, folks! It's like, we should know better by now.

And let's be real, the US isn't exactly known for its public health system. I mean, have you seen the numbers? 2,240 cases in 2025 is a staggering amount, especially considering we've only just started 2026. We need to take this seriously and address those declining vaccination rates ASAP. 🤦‍♂️ It's not like we're going to be able to recover from this if we don't get our act together.
