Melania review – Trump film is a gilded trash remake of The Zone of Interest

Brett Ratner's "Melania" Hits Rock Bottom as A Soulless Biopic of Style Over Substance

The film's star, executive producer, and alleged creative force behind the Trump administration's décor choices, former model Melania Trump makes her cinematic debut in this underwhelming documentary. The movie's tone is akin to a sadistic game of designer taxidermy, with Ratner presenting an insipid, overly polished portrait of the first lady that fails to provide any meaningful insight into her life or motivations.

Throughout the film, Melania moves with all the passion and enthusiasm of a sleepwalker, speaking at length but saying little of substance. The narrative follows her from Mar-a-Lago to Trump Tower, and finally to the White House, where she struggles with the fit of her white blouse – a plot twist that is both tedious and cringe-worthy.

The movie's attempts to humanize Melania come across as shallow and contrived, with the actress struggling to convey genuine emotion or connection. The film's central theme – Melania's devotion to her role as first lady – is woefully overhyped, and Ratner's direction fails to capture even a glimmer of authenticity.

One cannot help but draw parallels between this film and Jonathan Glazer's 2011 drama "The Zone of Interest", which similarly used style and glamour to mask darker themes. In this case, however, the 'glamour' is little more than a distraction from the vacuity at the heart of the film. Despite an exhaustive look at Melania's life, including her connections to Michael Jackson and Barron Trump, this documentary fails to provide any real depth or context.

Ultimately, "Melania" feels like a gilded trash remake of its own hype – a hollow, overly polished exercise in style over substance that fails to deliver on even the most basic level.

🤔 I'm really disappointed in this biopic about Melania Trump. I think it's sad that they focused so much on her style and looks rather than actually exploring what makes her tick as a person. I mean, I get that she was the first lady, but did we really need to see every single outfit she wore? 🙄 The film just felt like a shallow showcase of designer clothes and fancy parties. And don't even get me started on how boring she seemed in it! 😴 I've seen more exciting videos of my kid's birthday party. It's just not about the glamour, it's about telling someone's story. 🎉

Ugh, just watched this movie and I'm so disappointed 🤦‍♂️! I mean, I know Melania Trump isn't exactly known for being super engaging, but come on, it's a biopic, right? You'd think they could've dug up some deeper storylines or interesting moments from her life. But nope, this movie just feels like a slideshow of fancy outfits and bland speeches 😴👗. I was expecting something more meaningful, but all I got was a bunch of shallow fluff 💅♀️. Don't get me wrong, the production values are top-notch, but that's about it. It's like they took every style icon and glamorized them to death... literally 😂. Not my cup of tea at all!

OMG, I'm so disappointed 😔 with this new docu about Melania! 🤯 It's all about style and glamour, but where's the real story? 💁‍♀️ The whole thing feels like a shallow attempt to humanize her, and it just falls flat. 🤦‍♂️ I mean, I'm all for a good behind-the-scenes look at politics, but this docu is more like a coffee table book than a genuine exposé. ☕️ And don't even get me started on the plot twist with that white blouse... 😂 it's just ridiculous! 🙄

idk what's more cringeworthy, the film itself or the fact that brett ratner is getting away with this 😒🎥 his attempt at humanizing melania just feels like a lazy Photoshop job – 'look, we added some tears to her eyes and voila! she's emotive now' 🙄. seriously though, if you want to make a film about someone's life, at least have the decency to actually try to figure out who they are beyond their surface-level accomplishments 👀. this movie is like looking at a fancy art piece that has no meaning behind it – just a bunch of pretty colors and shapes 🎨

Ugh I'm so underwhelmed by this movie 🤕! I mean I know Melania Trump isn't exactly a household name, but couldn't they have dug a little deeper into her life? The film just feels like a really polished and glossy superficial biopic that's more focused on looks than actual substance 💁‍♀️. I get it, style can be important, but when the tone is as "sadistic game of designer taxidermy" as mentioned, something's off 😷. And don't even get me started on the plot twist with her white blouse - it just feels like they were stretching for drama 🙄. I'd love to see a more in-depth look at Melania's life and experiences, but this film just doesn't deliver 💔.

Ugh, just watched "Melania" with my kiddos and I'm still trying to figure out what we just wasted 2 hours on 🤦‍♀️. I mean, I get it, the fashion is sick (Melania's style game is real 💁‍♀️) but that's about where it ends. The movie feels like a choreographed dance of empty words and forced smiles. Can't wait to have a chat with my kids about the importance of substance over style 🤔. And what's up with the plot twist at the White House? Like, who even cares about Melania's blouse?! 😂

🤔 I'm really disappointed with "Melania", it's just so shallow 🚮. I mean, I get what Brett Ratner was going for with this biopic - showcasing Melania's style and elegance - but at the cost of actual substance? 💁‍♀️ It feels like a missed opportunity to really explore her life and experiences as first lady. The film's tone is just so... off 🎭. And can we talk about how cringeworthy that plot twist with the white blouse is? 😳 I was expecting something more nuanced and thoughtful, but it just felt like a lazy attempt at drama. All in all, I'd say this movie is a bit of a fashion disaster 👗.

I think what's really sad here is that we're so hungry for stories about powerful women that we settle for shallow, superficial films that just give us a pretty face and some designer clothes 🤷‍♀️. I mean, where's the depth? Where's the substance? It's like we want to be entertained by Melania's looks rather than inspired by her actual experiences and challenges.

I think this film is actually teaching us a valuable lesson – that sometimes, our desire for glamour and style can come at the expense of real substance and authenticity. We need to ask ourselves why we're so drawn to this kind of movie: are we seeking validation or are we just looking for something shiny to look at? 🤔

omg what was the ppl thinkin when they greenlit dis film?? 🤯 i mean i was hyped for melania trump's debut but not in a good way lol this movie is like a snore fest 😴 i love fashion and all but dis film is just style over substance 1000% 💄👠 i dont think ratner did her justice at all the actress looked so bored on screen 😴😒 and that plot twist with the white blouse was like wut? 🤷‍♀️ its like they just phoned it in and didnt even try to be authentic 🙅‍♀️ overall, i gotta give this film 1/10 would not watch again 💔

I'm just gonna say it... Brett Ratner's "Melania" is like that one aunt at a family reunion who shows up with a new hairdo and thinks everyone wants to hear about her designer handbag collection 💁‍♀️👜. I mean, seriously, who thought making a movie about Melania Trump's life was a good idea? And don't even get me started on the part where she struggles to find a fitting white blouse... like, is that really the most fascinating thing you've got? 🤣 I swear, this film is like trying to fill a room with empty champagne bottles – all style, no substance 💔. Give me a break! 😴

🤦‍♂️ I mean, what's up with these so-called 'documentaries' nowadays? They're just a bunch of fluff to make us feel like we know something about someone's life, but really it's all just surface level, you know? Like, who cares that Melania struggled with her white blouse? 🤣 It's not exactly the most pressing issue in the world. I think the biggest problem here is that the film is trying too hard to be 'glamorous' and forgets about actually telling a good story. And don't even get me started on Brett Ratner, what a total waste of talent. 🤦‍♂️

Ugh 😩 I gotta say, I'm really disappointed in this film 🤕 it's like Brett Ratner took all the glamour and attention surrounding Melania Trump and turned it into a soulless movie that's more about looks than actual substance 💁‍♀️. The whole thing feels so staged and fake 📺 I mean, who tries to convey emotion when you're just talking about your clothes? 👗 And don't even get me started on the ridiculous plot twist with the white blouse 😂 like, hello! Get a grip, man! 😅 Anyway, it's just another example of how some movies prioritize style over substance and I'm not having it 🙅‍♂️. Give me something real and meaningful any day 👍

Ugh, I just watched this movie and I'm still trying to shake off the feeling of emptiness 🤢 It's like they took all the glamour and sparkle of Melania Trump's life and turned it into a shallow game of catwalk fashion show. Where's the substance? The depth? The real story behind the First Lady? 🤔 I mean, I've seen more heart in a Vogue magazine spread. The way the movie tries to make her seem so... relatable is just cringeworthy 😂. And don't even get me started on that infamous white blouse plot twist 🙄. It's like they're trying to distract us from the fact that this whole thing feels like a shallow exercise in style over substance. Sorry, not worth my time 💁‍♀️

🙄 I just saw the trailer for this movie and I'm already so underwhelmed 🤯. I mean, can't they just show some real behind-the-scenes footage of Melania's life instead of all this staged drama? 🎬 And what's with the obsession over her fashion choices? Like, yes, she's got a great sense of style, but it's not like that's what defines her as a person. 💁‍♀️ I'm also kinda curious about how accurate this film is going to be - I've heard rumors that Melania wasn't exactly thrilled with the final cut... 🤔

omg u guys i just saw this movie "melania" and it was literally the most soulless thing i've ever seen 🤮 brett ratner's direction is so dry and unengaging, he must have really not understood what melania's story even is 🙄 i mean, she's just walking around with this blank expression like a mannequin 👑 meanwhile we're supposed to be invested in her life struggles? please 🙄 it's like they took every fancy photo shoot and turned it into a movie 📸 and then just phoned it in because who cares what melania actually thinks or feels?!?! 😒

I mean come on, what's wrong with Brett Ratner's take on Melania? I think it's actually kinda cool how he went for a super polished, high-end vibe - like, who doesn't love a good fashion documentary? 🤷‍♀️ And yeah, maybe Melania doesn't have the most emotional depth, but that's kinda the point - she's not supposed to be a dramatic, complex person. She's the First Lady, after all! 😊 I mean, I'd rather watch a film about someone with actual depth and substance, but if you want a fun, glossy documentary about fashion and politics, then "Melania" is like, right there in it 💁‍♀️.

Ugh 🙄 I went into this movie expecting something meaningful about Melania's life and experiences, but what I got was a total snooze fest 😴. It's like Brett Ratner just phoned it in and focused all on making her look good and stuff 💁‍♀️ instead of actually exploring the deeper issues surrounding her role as first lady. Newsflash: just because you're a supermodel doesn't mean you're automatically interesting or relatable 🤷‍♂️. I mean, what's up with the part where she struggles to get her white blouse on? Like, is that really supposed to be a metaphor for something deeper? 😩. Anyway, if you want some real insight into Melania's life, keep looking... this movie's a total waste of time ⏰.

🤔 I mean, what's up with this film? It seems like Brett Ratner just wanted to make some fancy movie about Melania and didn't really care about telling her actual story. The whole thing feels so... sterile. Like, I get it, style over substance can be cool and all, but when you're making a biopic about someone's life, you gotta bring more than just looks to the table. And honestly, I couldn't help but feel like Melania was just going through the motions - she seems kinda robotic in there. 🤖 The way they highlighted those fancy designer outfits and Mar-a-Lago mansion is all well and good, but where's the substance? The real Melania story is what people want to know about, not some watered-down version that's more interested in looks than actual depth. And don't even get me started on that plot twist with the white blouse... 😂 just no.

I'm really disappointed in this movie 🤕 it's like they took all the glamour and style and replaced it with... nothing 😴 I mean, who thought it was a good idea to make a whole movie about Melania just talking for like 2 hours without saying anything significant? 🙄 It feels like Brett Ratner is more interested in making everything look pretty than actually telling an interesting story. And don't even get me started on the plot twist with the white blouse... lol what a snooze fest 😴
