Inter Miami will face Vancouver Whitecaps at home in the MLS Cup on December 6. The Eastern Conference champions edged New York City FC 5-1, winning their first conference title under Lionel Messi's guidance.
Saturday night's match saw Inter Miami dominate NYCFC, with Tadeo Allande scoring three goals as Inter Miami took a four-goal lead into halftime. Mateo Silvetti scored on his assist from Messi in the 67th minute, while Telasco Segovia added to the scoreline before Allende sealed the win.
Messi played 77 minutes and set up three Inter Miami goals. Despite being briefly shaken up after being struck by a left-sided tackle in the ninth minute, he remained on the field. A direct kick from 30 yards out was easily saved by NYCFC's Matt Freese.
Inter Miami's next goal came after Alba's long pass controlled by Allende gave him an easy chance at one-nil to Inter Miami.
Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano praised his team's spirit, stating that "the power of one group can overcome many things." The win brings the team closer to another championship title.
In contrast, Vancouver Whitecaps advanced with a 3-1 victory over San Diego FC in Saturday night's Western Conference Final. Brian White scored two goals and Ali Ahmed also had an assist as Vancouver earned their first MLS Cup final appearance.
The Whitecaps will face Inter Miami next Saturday for the league title.

The energy at the stadium must've been electric with NYCFC getting drubbed like that 
. But, now they have to deal with a tough opponent in Vancouver - I'm not sure if Inter Miami can contain their offense
