Meta is closing down its VR meeting rooms as part of its wider cull

lol what's up with Meta's decisions? 🤔 They used to have this sick virtual reality meeting space for teams and now they're just shutting it down 🚫. According to some stats I found out, in 2022 Meta spent like $5 billion on Reality Labs alone 💸. And now they've lost over $70 billion since 2021? That's a huge write-off 📉.

I looked at some charts and I think this move makes sense tho 📊. The metaverse space is super competitive and it seems like Meta's just trying to pivot towards other areas like wearables 👀. And let's be real, those AI-powered smart glasses from Ray-Ban are about to get a serious boost 💻.

Anyway, did you know that in 2023 the global VR market was valued at around $2.7 billion 📈? It's crazy how fast it's growing! Meta might be stepping back on some of its metaverse ambitions but I'm curious to see where they'll invest next 🤔

I feel like I'm stuck in a virtual meeting space and can't escape 😂... just kidding, kinda. So Meta's killing off Workrooms because Horizon is all grown up now? That's like my aunt growing old, still cool but needs new glasses 🕶️. But for real, 1,000 layoffs is no joke! Guess that's what happens when you're trying to build a metaverse empire... or a space hotel with too many rooms 🚀👽. Meta's focusing on wearables now? That's where it's at – on my face 👃, not in a virtual meeting space. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to stick to Zoom for my team meetings 😂.
