Meta has just taken its virtual hangouts to the next level by introducing an invite-only feature in its Hyperscape Capture spaces. Users can now extend digital invitations to friends and acquaintances, creating a more social aspect to these immersive virtual environments.
In this enhanced experience, up to eight individuals aged 18 or older can join a space at once, as long as they have the necessary link and access to Meta Horizon, which is compatible with both Quest 3 and 3S headsets. Users can also connect through the mobile app on their Android or iOS devices.
The Hyperscape Capture technology allows users to scan real-life spaces and create virtual replicas, providing a unique opportunity for socializing and exploring in a digital setting. With this update, individuals can invite friends over when they're unable to meet physically, or indulge in celebrity-inspired spaces like Gordon Ramsay's kitchen or Chance the Rapper's living room.
This new feature is being rolled out gradually and comes as part of Hyperscape Capture, which Meta showcased at its Connect conference earlier this year. As users explore these virtual hangouts, Meta plans to increase the party cap in the future, allowing for even more social interactions in the metaverse.
