'Metroid Prime 4: Beyond' thrillingly brings the series into the modern era

Nintendo's latest effort to reboot the Metroid Prime series, titled Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, is finally here, bringing the beloved franchise into the modern era with stunning visuals and a renewed sense of excitement. After playing around 90 minutes of the game, I can confidently say that this installment promises to be an unforgettable adventure.

The moment you start playing, it's clear that Nintendo has put its heart and soul into creating a fully immersive experience. The lush alien worlds, monstrous enemies, and first-person combat are all brought together with breathtaking results, showcasing the Switch 2's capabilities in a way that's simply stunning. Whether you're playing in handheld mode or hooked up to your TV, the visuals are crystal-clear, and the frame rate is silky smooth.

However, as enticing as these new visuals are, it's hard not to feel a sense of familiarity when playing through Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The gameplay feels remarkably similar to its predecessors, with some elements even feeling a bit too retro. You'll notice that save stations are still scattered throughout the map, and some of the music cues and sound effects seem like they could have been plucked straight from other Metroid Prime games.

That being said, there is one significant change that Nintendo has teased: new psychic abilities. In the demo, these powers are primarily used for solving environmental puzzles but also play a role in combat. The ability to slow down time while firing your blaster was an exhilarating experience, and I can't wait to see how this power evolves throughout the game.

While some of the gameplay may feel too familiar, there's something undeniably charming about it. The Metroid Prime series has always been built on a foundation of precision platforming and first-person combat, and these elements have become synonymous with the franchise. By sticking to what works and making subtle adjustments, Nintendo is likely to appeal to fans who have grown up with the series.

One thing that's clear from my time playing Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is that this game has all the makings of a classic โ€“ and I'm not just talking about its polished visuals. With its engaging gameplay, rich alien world, and an emphasis on exploration, it's easy to see why fans are so excited to get their hands on this latest installment.

With Metroid Prime 4: Beyond arriving on December 5 for both Switch and Switch 2 consoles, Nintendo has a lot riding on its shoulders. Can the game truly stand out from its predecessors after all these years? The answer remains to be seen, but with its stunning visuals and renewed sense of excitement, I have no doubt that this installment will be an unforgettable adventure โ€“ one that's sure to leave fans of the series grinning from ear to ear.

I'm low-key hyped for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond! The graphics look insane ๐Ÿ˜ฒ and it's awesome to see Nintendo bringing the franchise into the modern era. But at the same time, I kinda feel like we're revisiting old territory ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, those power-ups from the demo were so cool, but can they hold their own in the long run? โฐ Maybe it's just nostalgia talking, but there's something special about precision platforming and first-person combat that can't be replicated easily ๐Ÿ’ฅ. That being said, if Nintendo sticks to what works and makes some tweaks, I'm all for it ๐Ÿ˜Š. Bring on Dec 5! ๐ŸŽ‰

I'm so hyped about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond ๐Ÿคฉ! The graphics are insane on Switch 2 and it feels like a whole new world has opened up for Samus. I love how Nintendo stuck to what made the series great in the first place - that tight platforming and combat combo is unbeatable. But adding those new psychic powers? Game. Changer ๐Ÿ”ฎ. Can't wait to dive deeper into the game on Dec 5, it's gonna be a wild ride! ๐Ÿ‘พ

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I'm SO hyped for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond!!! Nintendo killed it with the visuals ๐Ÿ”ฅ and the gameplay feels soooo familiar in a good way ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I mean, who doesn't love precision platforming & first-person combat?! ๐Ÿš€ The new psychic abilities are a game-changer ๐Ÿ’ซ (no pun intended) - I loved slowing down time while blasting aliens ๐Ÿ‘พ. Can't wait to see how they evolve throughout the game! December 5 can't come soon enough ๐ŸŽ‰, Switch & Switch 2 owners better get ready for an epic adventure ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I'm so hyped for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond ๐Ÿคฉ! The new visuals are straight fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ and it's amazing how Nintendo has managed to bring this classic franchise into the modern era. But, I gotta say, some of the gameplay feels a bit too familiar ๐Ÿ˜Š. I mean, who doesn't love precision platforming and first-person combat? It's what makes Metroid Prime so iconic! The new psychic abilities sound super cool too ๐Ÿคฏ, especially slowing down time while firing your blaster was a blast. Can't wait to see how these powers evolve throughout the game ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

One thing that worries me is whether the game will feel too much like its predecessors after all these years? But I think Nintendo's got this one covered ๐Ÿ˜‰. By sticking to what works and making subtle adjustments, they're bound to appeal to fans who've grown up with the series. And let's be real, the new visuals are just stunning ๐ŸŒ. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has all the makings of a classic โ€“ polished gameplay, rich alien world, and an emphasis on exploration. Can't wait to see what the future holds for this installment!

The Switch 2 is really showing off its chops in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, gotta give Nintendo some credit for that ๐Ÿ™Œ. But seriously though, the game feels super familiar, like I've played it a million times before. Don't get me wrong, the visuals are insane and all, but at some point you just want to shake things up a bit. And those save stations? Still stuck in the past ๐Ÿ˜’. The new psychic abilities are pretty cool tho, can't wait to see where they take the game. Overall, it feels like Nintendo's trying to recapture the magic of old Metroid Prime games, which is great for fans, but might leave some of us feeling a bit... nostalgic ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I played it yesterday and it feels like they brought back my childhood ๐Ÿ˜‚. The new psychic powers sound dope tho ๐Ÿ‘€ I'm a bit concerned about the gameplay feeling too familiar, but I guess that's what makes it so comforting? The graphics are insane, though - I was playing on TV mode and it looked like I was inside the game ๐Ÿคฏ Has anyone else tried the demo yet?

omg u gotta try this new metroid prime game ๐Ÿคฏ it looks sooo good on switch 2 but idk if its gonna feel too samey after all these years lol those psychic powers tho ๐Ÿค” is a nice touch i love how they're using them for puzzles and combat can't wait to see more of that in the full game! ๐ŸŽฎ

im so hyped 4 metroid prime 4: beyond lol! nintendo did a sick job with the visuals it literally feels like youre in a sci-fi movie ๐Ÿš€ i mean, the frame rate is silky smooth and the worlds are so immersive u can feel like ur really exploring alien planets. but at the same time, some of the gameplay feels kinda familiar, like ur playing an old metroid prime game ๐Ÿ˜. but im not mad bout that cuz its still a ton of fun and the new psychic abilities sound AMAZING ๐Ÿคฏ cant wait 2 see how they play out in the full game. one thing i will say is that nintendo stuck wut works, which is always a win in my book ๐Ÿ™. so yeah, im super excited for this game and cant wait 2 get my hands on it. btw, who else is hyped? ๐Ÿค—

You know what's wild ๐Ÿคฏ... I just saw a funny video on YouTube where a cat "plays" a tiny piano and it's literally the cutest thing ever ๐Ÿ˜น. I mean, who needs a new Metroid game when you have adorable cats doing piano covers? Just kidding, sorta ๐ŸŽธ. But seriously, speaking of Switch consoles, has anyone else noticed how some games just look better on one model over the other? Like, is it really worth upgrading to the Switch 2 just for this game alone? And by the way, do you guys like watching cat videos or is that just something I'm weirdly obsessed with right now ๐Ÿ˜ธ.

๐Ÿค” sounds like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is gonna bring back the nostalgia for some people but might feel a bit same-y at first? ๐ŸŽฎ hope the new psychic powers are gonna shake things up and make it feel more fresh ๐Ÿ’ฅ
