Michigan Rattlers announce ‘indefinite hiatus’ - Detroit Metro Times

Michigan Rattlers, a band of childhood friends from Petoskey, have shocked their fans by announcing an indefinite hiatus. The news was shared on the band's social media account in a heartfelt post.

The band members, Graham Young, Adam Reed, Christian Wilder, and Tony Audia, expressed their gratitude for the love and support they've received over the past decade. They praised the incredible experiences they've shared with their fans and thanked them for being part of their journey. The group also hinted at new opportunities on the horizon, leaving fans eagerly waiting to see what's next.

The Michigan Rattlers have made a significant impact in the music scene, both locally and nationally. Their shift from alt-country to synth-rock in recent years, showcased by last year's album "Waving From a Sea", has been well-received. The band even opened for Bob Seger at Pine Knob in 2019, solidifying their reputation as one of Michigan's most exciting bands.

As the news of the hiatus spreads, fans are left to ponder what this means for the future of the band. Will they reunite in the future or take on new projects? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain - the Michigan Rattlers have left an indelible mark on the music scene that will be remembered for years to come.

It's really sad news about The Michigan Rattlers 🤕 I've been following them since they were playing small gigs in Petoskey and it's crazy how far they've come. Their music has always had this special energy to it, you know? It's not just the songs themselves, but the way they connect with their fans on a deeper level. They're not just a band, they're like a big ol' family 🤝

I think what's going to be hardest for the fans is that we won't get to experience those same energy and connection with them live anymore 😔. But at the same time, it's amazing that they're taking a step back and exploring new opportunities - who knows what kind of amazing music they'll create next? 🎶 Maybe this hiatus will be exactly what they need to come back even stronger 💪

It's also worth noting how inspiring their message is - they're not just saying goodbye, but also expressing gratitude for all the love and support they've received. That takes a lot of courage to share, especially in an industry where you can get caught up in negativity 🌟

I'm totally bummed out about this 😔. I've been following these guys since they started out in Petoskey and seen them grow into one of the best bands in Michigan 🤘. They're not just talented musicians, but also super down-to-earth and humble - loved their energy when they played live shows 💥. I'm excited to see what new projects they'll be working on, though... maybe we'll even get a reunion show? 🎸 Fingers crossed! 👍 The music scene is gonna miss them, but we can take comfort knowing they've left an awesome legacy behind 🙏.

.. it's always tough when something we love comes to an end 🤕. But let's look at this from a different perspective... think about all the memories you've made with your favorite band, just like these guys have made for their fans 😊. Their decision might be bittersweet, but it's also an opportunity for them to explore new horizons and share their talents in different ways 🌈. It's a reminder that change is a natural part of life, and sometimes it's necessary for growth... so who knows what amazing things these musicians will create next? 🎶

aww man... I'm totally bummed out about this 🤕🎸 i've been following them since they started out and their last album was literally my jam 🔥 can't believe it's over already! but at the same time, i get what they're doing here... they need to take care of themselves and explore new things 🌈💫 hopefully they come back even stronger and more experimental in the future? we'll just have to wait and see 🤞😬

Ugh, I'm totally bummed out about this hiatus 🤕. I've been following those guys since they first started out and their last album was, like, so fire 🔥! I loved how they experimented with synth-rock and it showed in "Waving From a Sea". It's crazy to think that all of this could be coming to an end so suddenly... but at the same time, I'm curious about what new projects might be on the horizon 🤔. The band's always been super grateful for their fans' support, so maybe they'll just take some time off and then come back stronger than ever 💪? Either way, it's going to be tough to see them go, but you can't deny the impact they've had on Michigan's music scene 🎸.

awww this is so sad 🤕 i feel bad for their fans, they've been loyal and supportive for so long 😔 i can imagine how hard it must be for them to make such a big decision, but at least they're being upfront about it 💖 the fact that they're leaving us with hints of new opportunities makes me think maybe this is just a pause rather than an end 🔄 fingers crossed for Graham and the lads to surprise us with something amazing soon 💫

🤔 It's always hard to see a band like this go on hiatus, you know? I mean, they've been making awesome music together for 10 whole years and now it seems like they're just gonna take a break? 🤷‍♂️ I'm guessing they all wanna pursue other passions or whatever, but it's still weird. I love their synth-rock sound from the past few years tho, it's so catchy! 💥 And who knows, maybe this hiatus means they'll be back even stronger in the future 🔄🎸

🤔 just saw this and I'm still trying to process... I've been following them since they started out and it's crazy to think that a whole decade has flown by so fast! 🎸 They've done so much in that time, from their early days playing small gigs around Petoskey to opening for Bob Seger... what an incredible journey. It's hard not to feel sad about the hiatus, but at the same time, I'm excited to see what new music they might come out with 🎶. Maybe this is a chance for them to explore some other projects and collaborations? Fingers crossed they'll be back together again someday... 💕

OMG, I'm gonna miss these guys so much! 🤕 They've been my go-to band for all the best alt-country and synth-rock jams over the years. It's crazy how fast time flies - I remember when they first started out at our local bars in Petoskey, playing to a handful of people who were just as passionate about them as we are now 😂. Now they're opening for legends like Bob Seger? That's insane! 🤯 I'm definitely holding out hope that they'll come back together someday, but if not, I'm hyped to see what new projects they've got cooking in the studio 💡. Their music has been a staple of my playlists for years, and I know I'll always treasure the memories we've made singing along to their songs 🎸💖

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, I'm super bummed about this news 🤕. The Michigan Rattlers have been a staple in my local music scene for years and their music always brings back so many memories. They're not just talented musicians, they're also great guys who genuinely care about their fans. Their post was so heartfelt and it's clear they're grateful for everything they've accomplished together 💕.

I mean, can you imagine a Michigan concert without them performing? It's gonna be weird not seeing them live anymore 🎸. I'm curious to see what new projects Graham, Adam, Christian, and Tony have in store for us, but it's gonna take some getting used to 😔. Still, their music will always be around, so I'll just keep listening to those amazing synth-rock tracks they've created over the years 🎶.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this news 😕... I mean, it's not uncommon for bands to take hiatuses or go on indefinite breaks, but the fact that Michigan Rattlers have been together since childhood makes this feel like a loss of something special 🤔. Their evolution from alt-country to synth-rock was truly captivating, and "Waving From a Sea" was an excellent showcase of their unique sound 🎵. I'm curious to see what each member will do next - Graham Young's songwriting skills, Adam Reed's guitar work, Christian Wilder's infectious energy... each one will be missed 💔. Still, I have faith in them; it's not uncommon for bands to come back stronger after a hiatus 🤞. Until then, let's cherish the memories and the music they've shared with us over the years ❤️

🤔 Man, I'm still trying to process this news... I mean, those guys were like the ultimate band of friends from Petoskey! They've been bringing that special something to their live shows and records for so long, it's crazy to think they're just taking a break now. But at the same time, I get it - after a decade of touring and making music together, they probably need some time to focus on themselves and see what new adventures await 'em.

I'm gonna miss them, but that "Waving From a Sea" album was like a whole different vibe for 'em, you know? The synth-rock thing really took off and showed the world what those guys were capable of. Now, I'm curious to see what they're all gonna do next... are we gonna get some solo projects or collabs with other artists? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - their legacy is solid and they'll always be remembered as part of that amazing Michigan music scene 🎸

just sad to see them go 😔 their live shows were always so much fun, it felt like they were just getting started 💥 still love 'em though, all 4 of 'em are talented in different ways 🎸 wonder what's next for them tho, maybe one of the solo projects we've been hearing about 🤞

🤔 I'm kinda sad about this hiatus news... the Michigan Rattlers have been a huge part of my musical journey 🎸, and it's hard to imagine them not making new music together 🎶. But at the same time, I get why they'd want to take a break and explore other opportunities ✨. It's all about finding that balance between creating music for themselves and giving back to their fans 💖. Fingers crossed they'll reunite or go on to do something amazing solo 🤞!

The music industry is so fragile 🤕, a band just announcing they're taking a break and suddenly everyone's freaking out 🚨. I'm actually kinda sad about it tho... I've been listening to them since their country days 🎸, and the synth-rock shift was insane 🔥. Guess we'll just have to wait & see what each member does next 🤔... maybe they'll even collaborate on something new 🎶

just imagine what their fans are goin thru rn... a decade of music & memories with these guys & now its over 🤕 i feel bad 4 them, but at the same time ur glad they got to experience all those things together & share it w/ us... cant wait 2 c what they do next tho, maybe we'll get some solo projects from each member? would be awesome 2 see graham's side of music, he's been experimentin with some sounds on his own 🎸 anyway, we gotta respect their decision 2 take a break & appreciate the impact they had on our lives 🙏

OMG, I'm still trying to process this 🤯. One of my all-time favorite bands, and now they're just...done? Like, what even is a hiatus anymore? Is it forever or just a little break? 😕 It's so weird that they have to leave us hanging like this.

I mean, the guys are super talented and I've seen them live multiple times. They always bring that energy! 🎸 And the music - oh man, "Waving From a Sea" is such an album. The synth-rock vibes were everything! 💖 But at the same time, it's great to see they're taking some time for themselves and possibly exploring other creative outlets.

It's crazy thinking about how much we've grown up with this band. They've been a part of so many memories for me (and I'm sure tons of others too). Fingers crossed they come back stronger or better, but also super excited to see what the future holds for each of them! 🤞

man... i'm gonna miss these guys so much 🙏 they've been a staple in our local music scene and it's crazy to think about them just... stopping 🤯 i mean, i know the hiatus thing is pretty standard for bands, but still it feels like they're taking us on a wild ride out of nowhere 😂. whoever they do end up doing next, it'll probably be amazing because that's just what the michigan rattlers do 🔥 fingers crossed we get some new music from them soon 🎵

man this is a bummer news 🤕 i mean these guys are legends in michigan and their last album was fire 🔥 what's next for them gonna just disband or start new projects with different people idk but they'll always have the music they made which is forever 💯
